Hailed across the lands clamor the telling tales imparted by the conjoined children of Nemea and Mestra. Whilst the former endowed the whispered secrets of her make across the Faeborne that tread her likeness, the latter imposed the sense of whimsy that strikes the minds and hearts of those through the embellished craft of wordsmiths and lyricists.

The Court of Foisantte fellows the bloodline forged off of the united deities’ wills. Within their hallows and burrows lie the sacred and unorthodox traditions of the Faeborne’s most affluent family. Revered as the house of bards and diplomats, a Foisantte holds its most powerful tool in its arsenal right before its form: their voice. Whilst magi oft make practice along with the arts of wordcasting, the archaic and handed-down nature of the Foisanttes would transcend farther than what any mundane magi could accomplish.

Whenever their words coat themselves in magical arms, be it through speech or through song, the very throats of those with Foisantte blood glows an eccentric color, oft denoting the caster’s expertise upon specific schools of magic. This, on its own, acts as their signature and sign of superiority of their bloodline, for like the glowing runeoaks does the skin of their throat shimmer with the blessings of Nemea.

Those of house Foisantte hold many appearances, often dressing in regal apparel that would make Mestra themself swoon, or so they hope. Much so that how they dress and present themselves is a key integral aspect of what makes a Foisantte a Foisantte.

Much to the influence of Mestra, there is no singular genetical hair color that ties the Foisanttes together. Those of the house allow the missives of the God of Creativity to flow through them, such making those who are members of this house to sport a variety of hair colors, changing as their life goes on. Each color in the spectrum denotes a peculiar personality, acting as the reigning and definitive features of those bearing the familiar bloody. Each color holds meaning, yet all Foisanttes begin with black hair. Once they are of age, or whence their thoughts cement a peculiar color, it changes in an instantaneous extravagance; to the family, this is often a momentous occasion. In general, at any point in life, the change to the colors of one’s hair is just as important.

Yet these colors do not act as the end-all-be-all list. For it is mostly the common prevalent colors seen throughout the years. Though all-in-all, it would be apparent that those of this bloodline wield their appearances and voice to be what makes themselves deemed above the cut.

After all, the best way to judge a book is by its cover.

The main prominence beholden to those of Foisantte blood bears the ivory antlers they bear. It is within the family’s nature that their antlers take upon the brilliance of white, it being a de facto signature of what makes one a member of the Foisantte by blood. Made of palewood, one glance would almost make it seem as if it were ivory.

Though a variety of shapes take hold, it is said that most Foisanttes carve and shorten their antlers to accommodate the ease of slipping on and off various apparels. Regardless, to the family, one’s antlers is an extension of oneself, and it is integral to keep it as beautiful as the remainder of their form. Hence, it is also not uncommon for the flashier members of the family to decorate their antlers with various colorful baubles and paint, often befitting their choice of clothes and the current hue of their hair.

As a family that focuses upon their outward presence and presentation to those around them, partnered with the alien and esoteric nature Faeborne oft impose to those outside of their circle, there is a poignant and vivid emphasis of how one presents themselves to the family. Any relative deemed ‘unbeautiful’ or one who sullies the reputation of grace the family has garnered is shunned and even outwardly demonized amongst family members often being called “Ath’lusgi”, a term that roughly translate to “of the dung” in Wylden.

The Foisantte hold themselves as people. With the affinity of their family to wordcasting and general beliefs that uphold to a person’s presentation, time had brought the family to be one intrigued over interacting with any and every living thing. This leads to frequent forays and attempts at upstarting frequent happenings; galas, concerts, speeches, and pageants only being the few examples that the family had been renowned for hosting.

Such imposes a reputation amongst the family of people that they seek interaction. For a Foisantte’s natural habitat lies within a conversation. Many of the family thus moves on to more vocal roles in society. Those that partake in the creativity of their craft and the side of Mestra fall into the bardic arts. Those that hold a panache at parlaying for the greater good of balance fall into the role of diplomats and judges. Some had even been listed in the family tree as those that soothe the soul through words of comfort, acting as therapists to many.

Suffice to say, those within this family make use of their empowered wordcasting into the roles and jobs they pursue.

An decennial flower festival held after the great sowing of spring where people of Delphina unite in an attempt to seek out the most beautiful of that age. Spearheaded by the family sometime in the past century and arranged every ten decades by those of the Foisantte Court, this festival seeks to bring beauty to the city in-hopes of rejuvenating such bounties for the coming years. For, in the eyes of the family, beauty and presentation is an integral aspect of another person. The winner receives the blessing of the Court of Foisantte, allowing a literal crown of flowers to bloom right out from the winner’s skull, only wilting once their reign as the winner is over.

From a panel of the Foisantte’s most trusted of tailors, beauticians, and aestheticians, a winner each decade is decided solely on their outward presentation, grace, and general presentation. For those that yield not to beauty deserves no crown of such grandeur. But then again, the timeframe does vary, for it is dependent on when the flower crown wilts and the need to grow a new one comes across; which, usually, is every ten years.

Often would those of the family partake, majority of the seats of participants already taken by those within the bloodline. For the Calla Lily Crown itself acts as one of the court’s most revered relics, said to have been a united gift created by the hands of Nemea and Mestra. Its manifestation forms only upon those befitting of its beauty, thus leaving much to the results as a potential stepping stone for active and opportunistic Foisanttes.

To be the wielder of the Calla Lily Crown denotes one as the most beautiful within the realm. Such brings those that are beholden to their presence and to listen to their delicate speech alone to cause crowds to follow into their fold.

Depiction of crest at top of thread.

The crest of the Court of Foisantte portrays the visage of a cicada, its wings outstretched horizontally, as if it were in the midst of a vibrating song that echoes across the woodlands. It is often depicted in silver when metal and in mahogany when wooden, however one constant is the ethereal nature of its wings, it being usually made of glass that reflects a miniature rainbow.

The divide of the hierarchical positions within the family is integral to the growth and well-being of the Court. In its prevalence would denote who reigns as in-charge of the family’s actions and reign.

The seat acts as the sole role of the governing and reigning lead of the Court. Denoted by the number of their position in Roman Numerals (e.g. Eresie Foisantte, XIVth Matron of Court Foisantte), this title can only be taken by a singular person at a time and can only be filled in by those of Foisantte blood.

An extended role that is one set below the Matron or Patron. Only filled in by the winner of the March of the Calla Lily Crown Festival held once every decade, this role acts moreso as a presence for the family to serve and provide rather than a reigning leader that is expected to pull its weight, regardless of the background of the winner of the festival.

Trusted members of the Court. These act as the counselors of the reigning Matron or Patron, acting as their right-hand men and women that see out the heed of the Court’s lead. They hold full dominion over the Court and are expected to hold a level of respect both in and outside the Court and its beneficiaries. Rarely will those without the Foisantte name be provided this role, requiring immense loyalty, usefulness, and effort before deemed fitting of the role.

The members of the family that hold no higher title. Be it by blood or by union, it is expected that those of the Foisantte name would bear this title at the acquisition of the name. They hold power over the Speechseers and the Gentry. Often will those within this role be taught and raised to fit the role of High Carnianttes, usually it being where they end up being in.

Provided to those of the Gentry who have shown promise within the family’s hierarchy and hold a semblance of panache within one of the arts of speech. Those of this role are expected to hold levels of power over the Gentry. They can invoke internal noble actions to keep it afloat, be it internal parties, discussing with their people, or parlaying with those within the family. It is notable, however, that they are prohibited from acting as official envoys of the Court outside of its internal structure, meaning any entity outside of the Court of Foisantte.

Possible Sightseer roles for those set to manage the Gentry are as follows:

Those that bear the brunt of men-at-arms. They lead the martial members of the Court, often bearing high rapport and rancor across the warriors and battle-ready members of the Court.

Acting as the lead of the Court, they act as the charge of servants, retainers, and all other roles within the Gentry.

As a noble house that bears heavy influences with beauty, smaller circles regarding beauty are integral. Aestheticians act as the roles that hold the aesthetics and general appearances of the Court’s people, its general presence, and overall aesthetics up to a tee.

The masses that pledge to serve the Court of Foisantte. The layman holds minor benefits provided by the House and are often the runners, retainers, and workers under Court Foisantte. Those of the Gentry are generally managed by Sightseers, yet as not all Sightseer roles must be filled, they are on occasion expected to have the tact and wits to self-regulate should the situation arise.

One may become a patron of the Foisantte Court by contacting it's reigning Matron or Patron—which as of the year 2000 is Kitchi Foisantte, XXIXth Matron—in-game. Additionally, those interested in spawning in on August 5th as the following roles may privately message either rat queen#2022 or ludster#3285 over discord: Speechseers, Court Steward, Court Castellan, Lead Aesthetician, and general members of The Gentry.

In a post-124 world...

Through adversity does the dawn of a new era clamor for a grandiose change. Years post-124 had endowed an essence to recoup and rebuild, past grievous errors and rising tension. Whilst the few most entwined with the company that had triggered the great calamity of the Tower of Aetius, those that had remained strived to upbring the coming of a defeat whence news spread across the lands. Where adventurers, seekers, and heroes had fallen, the few that had remained moved to pick up the pieces; such acts primarily had befallen unto House Foisantte, its court having been called to remain within Delphina as the city's losses began to acrew.

Whilst other major Houses within Delphina moved to regain what had been lost, it had been left unto the Foisantte family to carry the baggage whilst others strived to return to their feet. In the years had the city’s rehabilitation been spearheaded by those that had been most capable.

Now as the new coming dawn ebb clear two years after 124, the Court of Foisantte would break their silence amidst the years of strife that had been casted upon their city. The older of the twins of the XXVIIIth Patron of the Court would emerge, a calling announcement on behalf of their family primed within their hallowed abode.

“To the most gracious city and the Jewel of Meranthe’s Woodlands,
His Grace, Lord Teoni Foisantte, XXVIIIth Patron of the Court, has sadly stepped down.
In his longest reign may we remember the tribulations he and our family has yearned
to staunch, and may his reverence be remembered throughout the years,

In his place, may we move on to look upon the new year.
For we tackle a new era, that will Court Foisantte walk with you against the coming tide.
In lieu of such, I, Moenie Foisantte, High Carniantte of Court Foisantte, proudly announce our next House Matron.

May I welcome Lady Kitchi Foisantte, the XXIXth Matron of Court Foisantte.

In her reign may our court continue our service in uplifting what remains with the city of Delphina.
May in the coming days her acts be made known to the realm. And In doing so may those who
seek opportunity find a presence within Court Foisantte.”
