RE: Overwhelming Difference - Lammy - 05-08-2020 The sad truth is, Melee without any sort of distance closing or teleport will always struggle against kite. It's a build situation, others who have several gap closers and time things right do well against these certain situations. RE: Overwhelming Difference - Jumpy - 05-08-2020 pericles didn't have trouble winning as a melee RE: Overwhelming Difference - Hated - 05-08-2020 did you die and make a forum thread RE: Overwhelming Difference - Detective100 - 05-08-2020 Melee focused builds generally need to be more well aware of their surrounding, timing, and positioning in order to succeed than mages, at least from my experience. Some builds can counter melee though (Looking at you, ground-AoE spam builds), and CC can effectively shut down a melee user if he has no means to either work around them or remove them. Some might argue against it, but melee can require good understanding of both the game and your match ups, in order to play around them for better chances to win. (Saying it as someone who played armed and had to rely on skills and tactics to win, and is now a mage that mostly just lets his build do the work )P.S: Unarmed is in a bad position right now though, on that I can agree... RE: Overwhelming Difference - spellzer - 05-09-2020 "but melee can require good understanding of both the game and your match ups" And other hilarious jokes you can tell yourself. RE: Overwhelming Difference - Megasnail - 05-09-2020 Melee is fine, seems an interesting post though. You seem to be neglecting Physical as a stat when talking about reaching over 300 Power, which melee's should all do, comfortably. RE: Overwhelming Difference - Avee - 05-09-2020 Melee and Mage is fine. I may not beat the best mages at my level with any sort of consistency, but I can beat them, but as has been mentioned in this thread a good chunk of my hotbar is just ensuring the motherfuckers can’t run away. Hell even my bladestyle is designed just to ensure these kiting motherfuckers can’t just lmaodash away. Why? Because I’m a trash can melee and I know it, so I build around it. Know your limits, and keep trying to get better based on what you’re bad with. Happens to the best of us champ, now get back in there slugger. RE: Overwhelming Difference - Koriv - 05-09-2020 There are melees who beat me (Like Avee's char and Pericles) and there are melees who I beat. It's not so much an overwhelming difference, but a matter of how ones build is put together, no build is going to be perfect and unstoppable against every opponent. RE: Overwhelming Difference - flipper23 - 05-09-2020 through the power of maths and metabuilding, i have found out that you can reach over 460 worth of power (counting phys) as a melee and that, without using any cast buffs, it's just base. don't worry, melee is still very very strong, i'd say its in a good place right now edit: (and that's an overwhelming dif!) |
