another suggestion would be to make it like the teraphim racial where they blitzed into light to do damage that knocked back.
you could make it a master.

What if instead of it being a teleport it's a faster dash strike with a flashy light animation? Still carries that fast feeling but now it's actually reactable.

Making it a mastery would do nothing to cull the lightspeed -> whip -> beam meta because the only beam outside of holy and occult is water dragon beam, and base water beam already exists anyways. It might make their builds marginally weaker but it won't solve the core issue here.

Lightspeed being a master means you lose out on a broken aura, stance, or damaging ability. People running it would be less oppressive just from being short a mastery token, and imo that’s enough of a hit, even if you still can’t react to it.
