Beauty of Annihilation [PUBLIC EVENT] - Folian - 07-17-2025

Hands have held idle far too long.
Machinations brewing, amidst the blood of a hydra drowning the west.
Following the destruction of Pscaela, the City of Art that remained as the sole bastion of the darker powers swelled with the influx of newcomer. Entropy lead way to change... Yet plans of the city's leadership were briefly paused.

Until now.

The Shades of Mydaea's canvas, alongside a smaller contingent of Viritas' forces are seen making their way to the Tower of Aetius; the foot of the Gods' power in Meranthe, where Mount Pavonis once stood in ages past. They begin the first steps of a rite of black magic... With little effort made to conceal themselves.
She shall be freed.

[OOC: this is a public ritual. An intent to interrupt will follow raid-like rules.]

Word travels quickly of the movement of those of Viritas.
Swiftly, does it reach the ears of the Republic.

The Gloomlight Grove begins preparation to mobilize the Bastion in efforts to halt the fruition of this ritual. Beneath ever-dimming skies, war horns echoes as command posts ignite. An elite squadron is assembled of battle-hardened warriors bearing scars earned in recent campaignes. With them, a supporting force of lesser and non-magi rally beneath the banners of the Bastion, their roles no less vital than that of the next. Together, marching, to overwhelm what should have not come to be.

Flags of Black & White held high.

Where one goes, the other is sure to follow. 
In accordance with the declaration made by Gloomlight, it likely comes as no shock that word from Martyr's Virgil follows soon after. The Republic marching as one in preparation to intervene in the works of the Hydra. Troopers and rifleman armed to the teeth walk side by side with the forces of the Bastion. Idle banter and jests between them bemoan that there likely won't be a tidal wave to wash away the rot, this time.

Shadow climbs the stone,
the tower pierced by falling dusk,
night crowns the silence.
Clouds roll, slow and dark,
whispering across the stars,
as the darkness hums.
Night carves glowing signs,
runes that drift on winds of dusk,
stars blink in warning.

Above the outskirts of Viritas during a dark and particularly cloudy night portals break across the sky. From them sorcerers fall in the plenty and take to the camps of forces that have grouped together in order to deal with the threat ahead of them. Within the camps of Alaric Bargiel their own accommodations rise.
 
A promise is kept. A project looks to meet its end.
 
Aetius has arrived.

When a darkness threatens the world, we stand with Humanity.

The temple of the north makes preparations as the Tower of Aetius comes under threat. For those who questions why, the answer is simple:

To see it threatened, to have it at risk of falling to the Fel is a risk we cannot take. We will fight with Humanity to stop this atrocity.

A small Elzara contingent makes its way towards Aetius, glaives sharpened and bows strung to combat the threatened ritual. It doesn't take many to do what is right.
