Threnody for Land and Sea [ALLIANCE VS. DELPHINA] - Revision - 10-02-2025 ![]() Quote:"Inki found no place among the land, nor no place in the sea swarming with Yama's children, and provoked the people of the land to wage war with the sea. Leucothea felt guilty, blaming herself for all the chaos, those of land and sea poisoning the waters, sinking boats and killing indiscriminately. Leucothea was stolen away by Inki during the war, cursed with the fur of land mammals they had grown to hate, and deprived of her ability to breathe underwater. Her final days of life were spent in fear and guilt, the songstress leaving her children behind to brace the seas in an attempt to find her father, Yama." To the concern of its wardens, the pond of the northern duchy's mother goddess has for years given no response except for the bubbling of black and brackish waters. This great ancestor of Sirenia sang only lament after lament, with many turning their backs to her cry's midst the long string of bad fortune. Its famed Duchess hid from the world, ashamed of the sinful condition of her own being. Her son, once the victorious leader of the Fel crusade, forced into exile. But life moves on. To stanch the growing sorrow, food and concerts and new idols would be the consequence, for if the stupefaction of the country could continue, all the treasuries of the Delphina were made on offer. Yet even an endless amount of bread and circuses could not cease the passage of time. As wars between kingdoms of men rage across the continent, it was reminded, even after one hundred years of the Lumin King's reign, that history would not hold its breath forever. ![]() The landing soldiers march forward in closed formations, donning the armor of dozens of different nations. OBJECTIVE: CAPTURE NEREIDES DATE: TBD RE: Threnody for Land and Sea [ALLIANCE VS. DELPHINA] - Dandeli - 10-02-2025 ![]() Through no merit of the Duchesses' toil does Nereides stand as Nereides. An idea wrought by the High Priestess Maliyah, executed by her hand and cast in the image of her dream. Long has it known the conflagration of conflict: once did the Isle's shore and shoals feel the strength of the Demon King's army, often does it meet the terrors borne of Sirenia's oldest grudge, and always does the Suladari work to see all that would stir nightmare placated or pulverised. Yet as storms wax and wane, drawing nearer and carrying off far, it is only beneath the jurisdiction of House Meander that disquiet and dread have stirred at the Duchy's very heart. Differences in opinion with the reigning King and his Seneschal. Vast stretches of quiet leaving any good Gulinda Goldfish or Fincent Fishnose to ponder the welfare of its good rulership. The disappearance of the once Duke which saw its Duchess so often bled of her joy. As a guise falters, Nereides' people know one thing to be true: a few old tales of the Realm make its caretaker deeply unhappy - but all the same they persist beneath that shared sky. The Isle would arm itself with prosperity, as it has time and time again, with all the songs a school of fish could muster, carols of Ocean's Song and the Shipwrecked carrying beneath a Tidewarden's spotlight as some unlucky few are put to bed early on this considerably unusual night. As ships appear on the horizon, the Suladari stirs. OBJECTIVE: DEFEND NEREIDES DATE: TBD

RE: Threnody for Land and Sea [ALLIANCE VS. DELPHINA] - Revision - 10-08-2025 ![]() thousands of soldiers who overrun the duchy meet their end fighting in the white sands of the atoll, hundreds more captured by the forces of the delphinian superpower. the North's charismatic leader is among the casualties. with his last breath, he lays a curse upon the enemy. only a handful of its veterans succeed in fleeing the island's shores. as word of the battle travels, the balance of the world's judgment is unclear. a pamphlet distributed among the major cities describes the cause of the allied troops. Quote: bloodied but not defeated, the war to liberate humanity would continue. for every reign shall one day come to a close. how will posterity remember you? ![]() |
