The Pyrithian Legion - DragonDarklyDreaming - 11-16-2025 The Pyrithian Legion
"To guard the flame of our kin — and burn bright enough that none may ever snuff it out again."
The Pyrithian Legion serve as both shield and spear for the young nation of Pyrithian. Formed from the unification of Drakanite veterans, free magi, and loyal allies, the Legion exists not to conquer, but to endure. It defends the sanctity of draconic heritage and the safety of all who call Pyrithian home.
While its roots lie in ancient Drakanite tradition, the modern Legion embraces unity — a brotherhood and sisterhood of flame, scale, and soul. Every soldier, whether born of dragon’s blood or not, swears to defend Pyrithian’s skies, sanctuaries, and people.
Based in no small part off of the organization of the Goldlight Order, the Pyrithian Legion shares much in common with the nation that originally birthed it, with many of its regular soldiery arranged and organized in much the same fashion.
The Pyrithian Legions are divided into regulars (common soldiery) and Irregulars — magi, adventurers, and independent agents recognized for their exceptional strength or unique talents. These Irregulars answer directly to the upper command and form the core of the nation’s elite magical strength.
✦ Commander (Tiamat’s Fang)
The commanding officer appointed by the ruling Tiamats themselves — currently Commander Erin Caldus of Pyrithian. Responsible for grand strategy, mobilization, and ensuring unity between the regular army and the Irregular Corps.
✦ Captain (Flamebearer)
Veteran officers and squad leaders who command divisions of Irregulars. Trusted by the Commander to act independently in times of crisis, Flamebearers are often chosen for reliability and composure over charisma.
✦ Lieutenant (Wingguard)
Field officers or senior magi who have proven themselves in organized battle. They lead smaller detachments, coordinate defenses, and serve as liaisons between Irregulars and the standing army.
✦ Soldier (Scalebound)
Full-fledged members of the Irregular Corps, magi who have completed training or proven loyalty through battle. They embody the will of Pyrithian: strong, loyal, and unyielding.
✦ Recruit (Emberborn)
New entrants into the Corps. Some come from the military proper, others are adventurers seeking purpose. Their flame has yet to be fully stoked, but from embers can come conflagrations.
To the Fireblooded among the Drakanites, fire symbolizes the world's creation, the proof of life and purpose. The Legion embraces this imagery in their structure: from Emberborn (the spark) to Flamebearer (the steady blaze), culminating in Tiamat’s Fang, the consuming flame that defends the nation’s heart.
The Pyrithian army does not march for conquest, but for memory. For every Drakanite hunted, every dragon slain, every sanctuary defiled — the Legion stand as living proof that some flames cannot be extinguished.
The Pyrithian Legion, much like Pyrithian itself, accepts all applicants, not just Drakanites. Those curious may reach out in-game to Erin Caldus, or via discord to @Zetchryn
((Yes I know this took a while, life repeatedly kicked me while I was done but it's okay, life got exhausted and I was able to get back up))
As a note:
Due to the proposed changes in the game and the shift towards Tactical, there will be drills and training about using Tactical. If you are firmly against Tactical, keep this in mind.
