The notice put out by Quartermaster Xiao on behalf of the Order and Promethian government is a short and simple one

To whomever might own 'The Bunny Hop' Tavern, 

Though we appreciate you not evading your taxes in any sense or otherwise causing trouble within our walls, we also have no clue who you actually are beyond a name on your tax forms. And in an effort to repurpose and bring some life back to the building we have decided to commandeer your establishment in the name of the state and progress. As a show of good faith we will give you until the end of 1914 to move your things and hand over the keys of the building to myself or another city official. 

If it is done in a prompt manner I will reimburse you for the left over rent on the building.

As the Order's soldiers come to gather and prepare for the eviction, none other appears than the reclusive Marquis. A clawed hand raised in halt saw the soldiers of the military cease and form rank to await orders. Unblinking golden eyes surveyed the scene of the Lapine's eviction before turning to the crowd that had been watching the spectacle with a mixture of worry and outrage. With an even voice, the same used for every address, he elaborated on his position.

I have been lax in my dealings of late and this is an oversight of administration, not endorsed by myself, The Council, or The Order at large and as such the seizure is halted effective immediately.

With those words he withdrew a purse of coins from his hip and offered it to upset Lapine with a faint smile before withdrawing back to the town square, the aimless soldiers forming an honor guard to escort him through the city.
