State of Esshar

If posting here:

You should be a high ranking member of one of the Cities and a direct representative of them. A Radiant of Osrona, a Warlord of Theria, or a High Lord of Myllenorris, f.ex, and if you have superiors, you'll ideally want their permission (even if it's just a thumbs up OOCly).

The information should be relevant to your city at large, such as an announcement or a coming change.
Keep it sensible. Avoid unrealistic things like magical flyers appearing everywhere to spread propaganda, as a common example.

Osrona, City of Dreams
1672 AC
[Image: retard-elite-force.png]
  • Exarch Cristovan has been promoted to Radiant Knight, which makes a total of three stationed in Osrona, along with Valero Montclaire and Elijah Soleis. Cited in his promotional posting is victories against the fiercest of the Syndicate, such as the notorious terrorists Cameo and Vasilios. He was ordained as the 'Crimson Radiant' and knighted by Queen Ariadne Petrakis herself.
  • A recent assassination of a high official has shaken the core of Osrona, another warning that there are dark forces at work. Exarch Nemein was found dead in his home, poisoned by Magibane and presumably defeated in a battle - the state of the veteran's house is a clear sign he didn't go down without a fight. The primary suspect of this crime is Sibylle, a 'former' citizen of Moonfall that was living with Nemein, and they were nowhere to be found afterwards. A bounty of 5,000c is placed on them, wanted alive for interrogation.
  • Knight Dillion Endore was defeated and killed in Theria, by the warrior Sajid, aka 'Mr Glass', collecting a bounty on the man's head. A public statement was soon released by Radiant Soleis: "Theria is the land of the lawless. A haven for savages and the damned, ripe with banditry and criminals on the run. Her Majesty's Will extends to every corner of Esshar, but do know what you're getting into when you travel far into the outerlands. Do not be mistaken, however - This is no safe haven, and murderers and thieves will be brought to justice."
  • Preparations for a siege against Moonfall are underway, with the sole intent of removing the occultic influence from the village. Battles on the forestlands between the capital and the grove have been frequent. The knight-squads are encouraged to continue their patrols and missions beyond the borders to ensure the safety of their people, and protect the smaller, more vulnerable villages.
  • Research continues into the Church's longstanding practice of Exorcism that may be used to cleanse the cursed of the Occult in the hands of a skilled Holy Magi, so long as the influence has not spread to a truly detrimental degree. The head of the medical division, Erika cos Salis, leads the charge here and should be seen if White Magic is a matter of interest to you.
  • Deacon Yiel has been seen throughout the City, preaching and offering the occasional sermon. Any aspiring priests should likely request tutelage under the woman of the cloth.

Theria, Kingdom of Thieves
1674 AC
[Image: HAfM1jm.jpg?2]
  • There remains established powers for many years within Theria. Mahraj ven' Serpente, Leader of the Sepent's Gaze. The leader of the Ardent Shield, Tanya Weiss. Head of the Fenrir Clan and Matriarch of House Fenrir, Sarasha Fenrir and General of the Black Order, the Black Knight. These leaders came together to form the council which runs their city and have done so for some time.
  • Teodor Hargrave assimilates their company into Theria and officially acquires a seat among the Warlords after their probationary period. Bringing the total number of seated Warlords in the Council to five. Their guild titled The Thunderbirds, no longer reside in Osrona and declared themselves patriots of Theria. No longer desiring to work for the nobles of the Capital and wish to seek a broader contract scope.
  • A Toll Gate has been establish at the front gates of Theria. The gate is monitored and any non-Therian entity, so long as they are not an Osronan or Moonfallen authority, is to be tolled upon entry. Knights and City Watch members are required to remove any noteworthy insignia or identifying armor before entry. The toll is 300 for patrons and 500 for nobles. At the gate guard's discretion, it may be double that amount for nobles for a total of 1000. High ranking Knights or other Authorities, such as Exarchs, Radiants, or the Council within Moonfall, are barred entry from Theria unless on official business or otherwise granted special permissions by the Council of Warlords.
  • A coliseum is set to supposedly open in 1674. Funded and managed by the Bean Emporium, and their leader DeSean Juular. The Bean Emporium itself is a innovative mercantile guild that quite recently based themselves in Theria. The coliseum will be hosting a plethora of combative events. Most notable are the unique and rare monsters they will bring in and allow magi to compete and test their power against! https://chronicles-of-esshar.com/forum/s...p?tid=1466
  • After a few years of discussion and meetings, the Five Warlords of Theria have set in place Guidelines for the people to refer to in terms of going by their day by day lives. However they may not be actual law and disregarded by some. https://chronicles-of-esshar.com/forum/s...p?tid=1504

Orsona's Underbelly, the Syndicate
1674AC
[Image: 6811d76f37d9068410107a0d82f93279.png]
-The Syndicate, a group whispered to mostly have been reduced to a myth, has recently begun making it's resurgences. Through the Underground, several glass statues resembling Dillion Endore, Nikara Kirk, and Kelly Kirk have begun to be distributed, each one engraved with the word 'Traitor' for the first, and the word 'Snitch' on the latter two, on their respective foreheads.
-
-The Syndicate boss, Meter, was seen at the abandoned church, engaging in conflict with the knights there. Joined by the Warrior Grendel, the two pushed back a group of guards, including Radiant Cristovan, Knight Marisol, Knight Asphira and Knight Berrios. Bystanders saw Asphira at the scene and was reported to have fended off Grendel, however she was seen leaving the scene with Meter just behind. It's said the encounter ended with the scream "The Syndicate is here."
-
-There is rapid movement and whispers said to be going on in the tunnels and sewers underneath Orsona. It is believed that the Syndicate is preparing for something big.
-
-With the resurgence of activity in the Syndicate comes rumors of the shadow hand's recruitment drive; citizens all over Esshar speak in hushed whispers about the eyes and ears of the organization seeking out new blood and saboteurs to fill their ranks. Just who they are and what they're looking for in particular is a mystery, but it's said that the disenfranchised and the downtrodden are often the subject of their attention.
-
-As the year  1674AC turned, the sound of battle was said to be heard at the front of the Pelleuax manor. Upon it being reached, several bloody gashes were found to be splayed across the front of the building, and large amounts of dirt pulled up. It's believed a battle took place here, something backed up by an announcement from the Syndicate Boss after.
"Claude Vey Pelleuax has been captured by the Syndicate, and is awaiting execution. If the First Light wants to try to take a move and try to save the captain of the City Watch, be our guest. We will show you just how weak the Order is, just how much they will fail at enforcing their oppression. We are the Syndicate, the end of the law of the knights."

Esshar's Nightmare has Begun

From an old ruin within the central area of the continent, a dark storm grew overhead until the summoners of Moonfall called forth nothing less than a legion of demons and monsters alike. It was said that while the Coven allowed these creatures onto their land, they did not claim to be their masters or leaders, but allies and friends.

The ritual was said to utilize a number of terrible artifacts and pieces to create, among them the heart of Nemein Sparda, a Book of Shadows, and a petrified body of a long dead demon.

Moonfall's stance on Demonkind should be obvious: all of the new arrivals are free to come into the village's borders, along with any occultists or human followers Atrellya has to offer.

It is said that Therian diplomats were present at the ceremony, though it was unclear as what they really thought of it. For the time being, Moonfall has a 'friendly' standing with the northern city, trusting them enough to witness one of the Coven's grandest events to date.

Theria, Kingdom of Thieves. Circa 1 6 7 4
It began with a large crowd in the front gates of Theria. The ongoing dispute between two magi, Mr. Glass, Leader the Glass Lotus and General of the Black Order, Black Knight had come to a finale. Mr. Glass had ensnared the Black Knight in sand and went to work as an artisan. The intense heat from fire that was applied to the sand quickly turned the Black Knight into a glass statue capturing their last expression and moments. Then Mr. Glass removed their helmet and revealed the dark skinned man with green eyes and dreadlock hair beneath. All the while atop the gated fortress stood the Matriarch herself, Sarasha Fenrir looking down at the artisan's work. After her decent from above, the whispers began around her while she strutted to the reveal. Studying the features of the once General to the Black order. She had little to say.
Quote:
"Glass. It can be transparent or as clouded as their armor. I prefer I see right through it."
The Rumors began soon after. Sarasha Fenrir had the Black Knight assassinated.

Mahraj ven Serpente announced his retirement from the seat of Warlord shortly before the year began. Then soon after followed by similar actions, Tanya Weiss and Teodor Hargrave picked successors to their seats so that they may make strides towards personal endeavors. Lukas mer Joyau supersedes command of the Thunderbird company, and Dun was appointed leader of the Ardent Shield.

In wake of the fall of the Black Order, many if not all of it's ranks deserted their home to take up arms against what they believed to be transgressions. Word had found it's way back to Theria that this group declared themselves the enemies of demons. The Black Watch. Basing themselves in Osrona and taking up their plight against Demons.

In regard to the recent events and changes to her council, Sarasha Fenrir called for an announcement in Theria.
Quote:
"People of Theria, embrace the new faces that walk among you. They bring work and economy to Theria. The betterment of our nation rests within this congregation. Together we will make our own peace. We go on with our lives. Take pride in our everyday work as mercenaries for it is what makes us who we are! I invite Dun to my council, newly appointed leader of the Shield. Lukas mer Joyau, whom supersedes Teodor as commander of the Thunderbird Company. Lastly, but far from the least! I invite my right hand, Mr. Glass as head of the Glass Lotus. Embrace your new Warlords!"

People from all over the lands of Esshar now begin to pass in and out of the gates. As business would have it, multiple groups of mercenaries within becoming more active. An influx of work stirring their now bustling economy. Rumors from those who traveled there and back make it out of Theria. Some speak of Demons frequenting the mountain with their own devices and business. Others claim to witness the merry attitude of new strangers integrating with Theria's entertainments. However it may seem, the Warlords of Theria seem to have been kept their image of neutrality and the people keep a point of their status as swords for hire.

The Demon Capital, Tower of Moonlight
[Image: 0d0f7a8b8e290f9d45d07d66c9bb124d.png]
"Capture. Conquer. Kill. Feast."
1678 AC
 - Changes around The Demon Tower have been all the more noticeable. Lesser demons now being called back to The Tower as claims of new Leaders have been instated. Lord Veles having taken the role of King above all, one exception being that of The Wolf Prince Ilysander.

 - The Black Council has been said to wield no further power, those who will not submit to this new rule being cut down by a peculiar spider with a blade of many eyes.

 - Those who still seek to work alongside this new era and Leaders of this land are encouraged to come and speak with Lord Veles. The promise of power and strength being extended to any and all which are willing to serve the serpent.

 - Sibylle, Witch of Moonfall has been decreed a Seer among these demons. One which will guide them to The Shards of Indras and Blade of Rot, her position one among few humans which can stand as equal among this new era of demonkind.

 - Osronans which have been found wandering too close to this tower have gone missing. Many having been seen preforming manual labor or feasted upon by this new era of demons.

 - Not a word is said of Moonfall, though the guide which had lead many back and forth between both City and Tower has seemingly vanished. No longer willing to bring those which side with Witches to The Demon Tower.

https://chronicles-of-esshar.com/forum/s...p?tid=1620 Those who would seek to continue and witness this new era of Demonkinds domination are encouraged to aid in one of many upcoming expeditions. Whispers of a blade which is said to hold the power to rot the continent of Esshar to its core.

 - Signs of unrest are clear around The Tower. Though barely kept in order by both Wolves and those which would continue to serve their new Lord.

-1675-

Among the night, Moonfall's changes become known.
Atreus Ghede has stepped down as Supreme, but retains a position on the Council of the Dark Village,
and Anabelle Lockwood has been chosen as his successor.

In a speech given to those congregated, she delivers several announcements regarding the future:

Quote:
"We walk in a new age, one that runs parallel to an age of old when Amalia Elaide moved across continents with the Dark Lord. We walk in an age where change is on the winds, and where we will bring about an Eternal Night."
"I will continue with council-members, though they will be distinctly separate, given autonomy that I hope will allow a more productive environment for us all."

"Ororo Boros will be our direct connection to the Syndicate, carrying Moonfall's interests with them. And my dear Eudocia Mimes will do the same for the Therians."

"El has been welcomed here as one of our own, along with the good serpent Versail and the Princess Ame'Val. Others have come.. as guests, and friends. But it is El who will join me in leadership. It is he who will stand not under anyone, but at my side when it comes to his kin and their home here."

"You are all my people, and it will be with my own bloodied breaths that I defend our gates. It will be with all I have that we prove ourselves something that not just Osrona, but Esshar as a whole should have never forgotten."
(Anabelle Lockwood)

Despite the secret tunnels to the Demon Tower being closed off, Moonfall holds no restrictions on any other Atrellyans approaching their borders at the current time. The Village stays open and welcoming to the whole of Demonkind, occultists, witches, and Therians seeking thrills or a change of scenery all the same.

Theria, Kingdom of Thieves

The mountain city has been quiet- Deathly so. While bar fights rage and the usual thievery- Things are quiet, its people as peace like the times before Osrona took an interest in the mercenary city once more. Perhaps after bold attempts made by its people towards their Council, their Warlords, Sarasha Fenrir and Lukas mer Joyau. Said unrest that has settled quickly, knives no longer pointed at one another's backs...  Thirst for bloodshed sated, for now? Again, the city is quiet save for its blizzards and howling winds.

1677 AC

These figures can be seen scattered. Perhaps it aids to the silence of the city. Warlord Lukas mer Joyau and Mr.Glass can be seen frequenting Moonfall, running in and out of the demon-filled, Witch village. Warlord Dun most present within Theria. What Sarasha Fenrir does remains a mystery. The terms of Theria and Moonfall quite obvious, the most frequenting Warlords present when Osronan Knights arrived to the village. As for the Knights and Osrona, Theria's view remains unchanged.

Quote:
"Defend your walls. Watch your backs. Your threat is a clear one.
Your laws have no power here."
(Lukas mer Joyau)

Whether Theria will assist as they've been claimed to do in any coming assaults remains unknown. Her people do as they please, following coin and benefit. Mercenaries at heart through and through.

The Demon Capital, Tower of Moonlight

"Capture. Conquer. Kill. Feast."

1678 AC

 - Beginning with Victory, under the guidance of The Demon Lords, Veles, Douma and Ilysander, Osrona was struck. Consumed by the flames of their horde which had aimed to spread sickness and disease throughout Messaris.

 - Among other victories came the capture of an Osronan Warship. The Demonic Leaders having fled upon such, leaving what little remained of their horde to be brought down by the remaining Knights of Osrona.

 - Demons still remain ever present around the outskirts of Sudbury and Messaris. Spreading the Verona Virus to any which may be unfortunate enough to come in contact with these plagued creatures. Thread:

 - Focus has shifted nonetheless, with discussion of utilizing their new Warship in the pursuit of The Indras Shards. Plans to set sail to a certain Ester Island in progress, lead by The Demon Seer, Sibylle.

 - Relationships with Moonfall are still strained, though the passage between both Tower and City seem opened once more. Despite the protest of a certain Spider.

 - Humans have been seen wandering around The Tower with ever more freedom. Though, an odd taint seem to persist upon them. Similar to the demons afflicted with The Verona Virus.

 - Whispers throughout the many districts of Theria and Osrona have beckoned the same call. The promise of endless power in exchange for servitude being offered in this new era of Demonkind.
