A library inhabiting a well-aged estate, firmly seated atop a hill just beyond the borders of Caethir and the Realm of Delphina. Founded and currently maintained by the bearer of its namesake, Sirius Kess, the Kess Archive is stated to be a place for the accumulation of knowledge. From grimoires containing contemporary and forgotten esoterica; to apocryphic scriptures, historical accounts and even the odd nursery rhyme, everything seems to end up on the Kess' shelves eventually.

It claims neither allegiances to, nor protections from, any city-state.

What the hell is this?
Kess Archive is a despicably neutral organization focused on the collection of books written by other players (and, sometimes, writing their own books). Placed just outside the purview of the city-states of Meranthe, the library is both outwardly disinterested in the land's affairs and too few in membership to have any real influence over them. Despite this, their unified interest in scholarly pursuits and stand-out location in East Meranthe makes them a guild in their own right. Visitors be aware that aggression, loud behavior, or being annoying is punishable by death expulsion from the library.

Why should I visit?

• BOOKS! An actively growing collection available to read on the bookshelves within the Library.
  
• Library cards! They're all the rage, make you look smarter, and may signify membership with the Archive.
  
• Evil experiments! Research projects are encouraged within the backroom facilities, especially those for writing new books.
  
• Common alchemicals! A storefront outside sells a variety, with a 100% guarantee of charitable proceeds toward the Kess.
  
• Help with medical issues and emergencies! You may or may not be experimented on, which may or may not be illegal.
