 Established in 2223 AC

SHOGUN  
A rising sun above the summit.
The chief administrative power of the land, and golden face at the helm of the Ruby Empire. 
Often does the final say boil down to a shining stamp of approval: the seal of the immortal phoenix.

CHANCELLOR  
Devoted right-hand of the Shogun.
 A committed soul helping to oversee all aspects of the nation, handpicked by the seat of honor. 
Dedicated to the path of betterment, they're tasked in growing alongside those of the ranks below.
Widely versatile, the title is one challenged to rise to the occasion- whether internal or external affairs.

HIGH COURT  
Pillars of wisdom actively contributing value.
Faithful advisors, bearing distinct qualities that distinguish them from mantle of seasoned combatant.
They are to safeguard tradition and cultural expression, blending ideas of their own with the existing empire.
Knowledge as well as varied expertise is a crucial aspect of the role- oft sought for teaching in addition to mediation. 

They are mandated to possess at least one skill: Medical practices, Priesthood, or Sorcery to name examples. 

WAR GENERAL  
The lowest official rank of executive authority.
Do not allow name to obscure your sight, for they are leaders in every capacity of the word. 
They are expected to instill peace by any means necessary, processing difficult decisions under pressure.
Most notable, the rank is capable of fostering a division under the Ruby Empire, narrowed catered to specialization. 

Elected by vote; all three members of the High Court, or two and one recommendation from the Chancellor. 
What is sought... is integrity, vision, and a voice capable of rallying others. 

YORIKI  
Those worthy of distinguished honors.
No longer is participation voluntary barring circumstance. 
You are now fully obligated to shed blood for the various causes of the empire. 
A higher standard is to be adhered to, for officially are you an officer of the law. 
However, with greater scrutiny arises a plethora of benefits- greater endorsement by the hands above.

Requirements: An official oath taken during ceremony. 
Within the role shall there be a hidden component of competition. 

ASHIGARU  
Feathers composing the wings of the phoenix.
Leeway is granted for those reluctant to conform in the presence of an assembled militia.
Bearing the colors of Stonehaven, you are expected to possibly fight on the grounds of association.
Despite reduced intensity from the role, a standard to adhere to law is maintained.
After all, those of this rank still represent the values of their home.

Requirement: Volunteer.
Be prepared to be called upon.

NOBILITY  
There are no special privileges afforded- for the Empire is a society of merit. 
Anything and everything are to be earned by virtue of one's devotion and achievements.

CITIZEN  
What more is there to say?
You are a resident or ally, perhaps safeguarded by the proud gate of Stonehaven.
Though with no buffer of rank, it's heavily advised not to jeopardize your position.
