The Blue Isles

[A lore expansion]

A stopping point between Sheng proper, and the outerlands nation of Xuantong, nestled to the southwest of the Uiwang bay; The Blue Isles main island is surrounded by four islands that boom with spirtual and elemental energy.

The Blue Isles bear the scars of past conflicts, particularly during the tumultuous War of a Million, which left the island's once-brilliant blue stones stained black. The veil between the spirit and physical realms became notably thin here, resulting in persistent spiritual activity, from Yokai to Nethradin, which continues to plague the region even after the war's end.

Following the war's conclusion, the spirit world bestowed a gift upon the Blue Isles. Four powerful elemental spirits, each taking residence on one of the surrounding islands. These elemental guardians, representing air, water, fire, and earth, imbue the islands with their respective energies, shaping the lives and destinies of those who inhabit them. Each island acts separately, but they are united in one goal. Ridding of the spiritual corruption that plagues The Isles for what seems to be an eternity.

The Blue Isles are renowned for producing some of Sheng's most adept spiritual and elemental experts, as navigating the chaos brought forth by spirits is an integral part of everyday life in this now mystical realm.

Southern Island (Air): Known for its expansive skies, swirling winds, and towering cliffs, the Southern Island is home to an ancient air spirit. The tribes who reside here are masters of air-magic, harnessing the power of the wind to enhance their agility, speed, and even combat abilities. Living in harmony with the natural world, they practice meditation and seek spiritual enlightenment. They are known to be pacifistic, avoiding conflict and leading peaceful lives.

Northern Island (Water): Surrounded by icy waters and frozen tundra's, the Northern Island is guarded by the elemental spirit of water. The tribes here have a deep connection to the ocean and its creatures, mastering water magic. Skilled fishermen, expert sailors, and formidable warriors, they use their control over water to heal, defend, and attack with precision.

Eastern Island (Fire): With volcanic landscapes and fiery geysers, the Eastern Island is dominated by the elemental spirit of fire. The tribes here are known for their fiery temperament and mastery of fire-magic. Harnessing the power of flames for warmth, cooking, and combat, they wield fire as both a tool and a weapon. Their culture is steeped in traditions of honor, courage, and strength, with a fierce determination to protect their homeland.

Western Island (Earth): Covered in dense forests, towering mountains, and lush valleys, the Western Island is guarded by the elemental spirit of earth. The tribes here are skilled in the art of earth-magic, manipulating the earth itself to reshape landscapes and defending their territory. They have a strong connection to nature, drawing strength and endurance from the land and its resources to sustain themselves and their communities. Their society values resilience, endurance, and solidarity, with a deep respect for the balance of the natural world.

The four nations work together in Harmony, fighting against the evil spirits that plague their land. For now.
