Character: Hina Lam
Which Event: Descent of the Black Dragon
Responsiveness: Incredible pacing! Each narration had heavy-lore content while being perceptive to all RPs made by everyone in the event, and we had six people on this one.. It was one of the most hyped up events I have been on yet and deserved to be for how detailed it was with lore of the Black Dragon.
Balance: The Trials were CRAZY.. requirements for really thinking about how to approach each segment of the Trials, based on the tenets of Felfyraxes. Just... wow. You messed up? You roll; the punishments for messing up were motivating to really get you thinking for the next trial and how to go about it. The ECs were a challenge, holy FUCK.. I had to somehow shed my struggles with micromanagement just to really avoid the last EC : sob : Still insanely good, however.
Storytelling: I won't lie.. this was the best events I've been on thus far. The amount of development on it to push a plotline that has since been kiiind of cut out since Shui Avintess and Togoshi Totsuki died was nothing BUT phenomenal. Each piece was interactive; I don't know how it could have gotten any better, but with how OBC writes? I don't think I would have been surprised if it somehow did!!! Getting to see the nemesis interactions between the Black Dragon and Ualdir, WITH AN EXPANSION OF PRIOR LORE, was invigorating. Oh my god. The build up from the beginning, the lore around it, the trials based on said lore, and then approaching the final EC was also very fluid and immersive.
Fairness: Injuries were hella fair, the balancing for a party of six people was great, and the dev mats were all got were just... wow. It was all completely worth the almost.. 10(?) hours we all spent on this event. I wasn't sure what to even expect for a reward, but OBC's attention to details for characters is on point alongside the event theme.
Overall: I'm impressed and I hope more can come out of this event and that OBC can run them because... goodness..
