To the Hollow Throne

During the beginnings of the Atrellyan invasion, a once Champion of Enarr, the third son of Grimnir, the ancestor of Emperor of Jokul... a phantom of the past... appeared within Goldlight, and spoke his story to an audience. Anointed a new purpose and given the name Shiva by the Lady of Death, Mortyl, this vengeful demigod made a demand upon Lirael Equisol and Lazarus at the conclusion of the public spectacle: Give him the Heart of Vdali or face the edge of his scythe.
As blades were drawn by near all, a tumultuous compromise was instead reached before the first strike, and Shiva and Lirael shook hands in agreement. A portal would be opened and sustained to the Hollow Throne, and the Heart of Vdali would be taken to the Destroyer.

Now it is time for the Mementos of Mortyl to uphold their part of the agreement and provide means of passage through the broken, icy gate within the Tower of Aetius. Their Lord has returned, and has called the faithful to gather in prelude.
