The quiet around the Tower of Aetius is disturbed.

With Atrellyan invasion still underway and most of Meranthe nations adopting a defensive stance, this is seen as an ideal opportunity to act offensively, counting on inability of Meranthe as a whole to quickly mobilize a great force to counter this effort.

An army of the dead and creatures of any fel variety move in tandem, urged to move forward at the behest of their master. Ahead of this horde is the Imperfect, Varrach, who sees it fit to make his grasp reach at the heavens above. With him follow assistants for a ritual, one that would undoubtedly only cause something terrible to stir across the continent.

Dark forces gather, and with it, a powerful energy that seeks to scale the might of the Tower and use it to reach out to the divine beyond. Such contact bears no good will, for it is the link that would serve as a platform for further escalation and invasion against the Pantheon.

Some may urge to cease the ritual, regardless of what it might truly be- while others argue to maintain defense against Atrellyan forces, choosing to spare nothing to yet another potential battle. Regardless of their choice, this bears a promise of the consequences upon Meranthe, one way or another.
