if it comes back they lower the damage. right now, unarmed is go in and do your damage and kite, similar to armed in many cases but also better. it’s because of that, that you should find a tree if you’re powergaming to deal with people who do kite and have range.

also, if you don’t have assault, i would advise getting it. i would also advise going energy for the shield and ability to utilize its stuns. but all in all, you should consider either learning going in or out or beg for the ultimatum of low damage, no gcd, low cool down unarmed which would suck a lot.
