I'm here to debate spell usage when in comparison to a tree I am intimately familiar with. It's not me saying I'm better than anyone, the fact you imply it instead of remaining objective only serves to show a lack of actual evidence to disprove my claim if anything.
Shadow Claw has a low cd, much lower than Scattering Lights, If you want the math..? It's... three or so times lower? If I remember properly. So in the same span of time if I land those 3 Shadow Claws? I do more damage than Scattering Lights overall, and Shadow Claw is much harder to predict and block. Sure I have to actually aim my spell, and get close, but.. okay..? That's cool. It's part of the trade-off for more damage, and I personally don't mind it as a Shadow user.
I won't repeat all I said above but, it is still possible to avoid chunks of the lights and still press block to reduce the damage further.. just like RoM. Also consider that each ball is four spell damage, and you may be seeing a cosmic user invigorate beforehand to boost their AP. The spell alone may not do that much damage, and it could be a case of buff stacked on top of the spell itself. Not to say that Scattering Lights does not have solid damage, it does. I just also want this to be a considered factor. (Though I don't know if it was a cosmic user you saw, this is just from my experience.)
I don't use Light. I'm not a member of the Order. I ICly hate the Order as a majority. This is simply me defending what I see to basically be an unneeded nerf when we have things like Sand/Explosion/Bone that are honestly worse in my opinion. (Though this is in fact, an opinion.)
