Reports would immediately reach the Dreadwoods that their very own Kanyzo Tyranny, daughter of Nanzo, had been captured by The Owl, a lone vigilante operating out of the Shimmering City. A letter found its way shortly afterward to Faustus, stating there'd be no negotiations, and that they'd kill Andre Osrila, and so he was to do with Kanyzo whatever they wished, a fact the Lightbringer himself would then publicize. 

Along with a very public statement to follow. An invitation, for every Promethian, every man and woman of Novus, of The Dreadwoods, to get back to the man at the helm of Nanzonia, and for them and all of their allies to see, as well. Faustus is sure it makes it to print, is spread through as many channels as he could manage, is sent by letter, to many officials, but every place it was written, the statement is the same:

"You may not remember me, Nanzo, or, 'The Tyrant', or whatever it is you call yourself nowadays, as I'm sure you don't remember the faces of the hundreds you've wronged. Ciel and Sylas will have their revenge, now, one way or the other.

Sylas was a greater man than you ever could be, and I'll prove it now. 

Come try and release her. I welcome it. Ready your ships, corral your men, after how effortlessly they were handled today. Siege the city as you did years ago, when you took the life of my closest friend, and a hero known throughout the city. Step foot into this place and fight me for your daughter, your own kin, like Sylas was willing to fight for his. I will stand, blade to Kanyzo's neck, and you will come, with your armies, with your allies, and you will fight me for her. If you do not come yourself, I will slit her throat. 

And she will die knowing that her father, who she devoted her entire life to, was a coward.
