Event: Hunt for the Past
Character: Balar
Responsiveness:
Very good. I expected having huge amounts of down time that'd take me out of the adventure but I was very much mistaken. Yes, there was downtime as is expected in any scenario where you have 5 people roleplaying with eachother but it never felt like I was waiting longer than I needed to.
Balance:
This is my very first event in history of playing this game so I don't know what the golden standard is. That being said, I never felt like the EC bars were broken to the point of not being fun and every encounter's difficulty was just right. It was my first time encountering the funny that comes with having no cooldown on your abilities. Did you know 5+ black holes stacked on top of each other have the suction power of a trained prostitute?
Storytelling:
Very fun. Felt like a proper DnD campaign which is what my expectations were for events. There was also a very good balance between serious moments, strong character moments and light hearted moments to relax after the more heavier scenes. It started with a near unbeatable boss that taught us what to expect. On our journey we faced many other bosses whose move set was then integrated for the final boss. Really cool!
Fairness:
Not once in this event did I feel like I'm being actively fucked over. Except one time when I taunted Mal, which was funny so I don't mind it.
Overall: 10/10 - It was the ideal first experience for me, and I'd definitely recommend Mal events for others.
