5 days is fine imo. 7 days is a bit too slow.
But there are some positives, a lot of people have busier schedules and time passes too quickly, so 7 days would help them. I think it'd also encourage players to not make their characters super young just for the sake of it; as in my experience (at least from prior games), people tend to enjoy having their characters be super established and powerful during their "prime" years (aka 20s), but it's hard to do that if you're not starting really young, specially if you have tighter schedule; so having more time per year to do all that would probably inspire more 16+ starts.
Also very few would want to spend multiple weeks being stuck playing as an 11-13 years old lol, specially as really younger age can lead to bit of stagnancy in development
Though on a personal level, I used to enjoy time locks and longer years, but now I think 5 is perfect, not too short, not too long.
