"The blade is good, but it can be better. We need fire crystals."
"What if I proposed a grander solution?"
Such was the start of the conversation between Catalyst and John Eternia, about improving his newly forged blade. It had reached the limits of what could be done with traditional materials, and while his solution might have held merit... Catalyst wished something greater. In her explorations and work, she had come across mentions of a point in Meranthe, within the Silent Expanse, where the realm between the physical and the spirit was thin, a convergence point as it were. Flame leaked out, turning an already scorching desert into a volcanic mire.
There was no intent to seal or disturb this point, but rather to hunt and slay a creature that had been spawned from it. An embodiment of fiery essence, an elemental, provided a far grander temper for a blade than mere flame crystals. There was simply the matter of reaching the creature and slaying it. Surely it would prove of little issue.
Then could come the process of naming the blade something other than Flamexcalibur.
Attendees: Catalyst, John Eternia, perhaps others.
Risk: Idk, HCOI? I will die for that man, though.
Theme: We are tempering a blade in the essence of flame itself. Take from that what you will.
Rewards: Fire Elemental Essence, idk what else. Arcanium?? I want a nicer stick.
