What if someone was raised as undead they maybe unlock a sort of racial tree / undead tree like with different kind of states of undead as a skeleton or a ghost/wraith/revenant/banshee and as a zombie/mummy/ghast/
As some of these might have their own thing such as a mummy is different to a zombie and a ghost still a ghost but a revenant/banshee is different

and maybe some special types of undead like a Death Knight though not the world of warcraft one but basically dnd or something


 death knight appeared similar to how it appeared in life, but it had a decayed body with rotting flesh and pinpoints of light in place of eyes.

Hope this suggestion is not too horrible as a idea for undead variety

Honestly. Necromancy would probably best be handled by something similar to the Witchcraft system.

Gain Corpse Points from battles or Graverobbing. Use Corpse Points to maintain, augment, and Boost your undead. Maybe have some kind of feature where linked undead grant any corpse points they gain via combat to their necromancer?
