For one whole year was the demonic obelisk allowed to remain on Vdalion's ruins. The Tears of Aegis chewed away at the fabric of life unhindered. The spread of the Shadowlands seemed a wicked side effect to the true purpose of stature if allowed to remain. Finally, on the 370th day, through faith and a touch of luck, a group of Meranthe-born magi break through and attack the structure. Losses are taken but they manage to topple the final obstacle, the Time Lord, Xarxes who reveals he had killed King Fiete Fortuna.

The obelisk shatters and the nefarious nature of two archdemons can be felt. The remnants of death shoot into the sky; a dark omen.
To some, heralding a certain Demon Lord.
