((This first post will be a bit wacky and experimental to get across the idea of the magical and metaphysical nature of the memories and events contained within. But for the sake of things being legible to everyone future posts will leave it to the imagination of the reader.))

Sainted Church vs. Golden Horde

Many accusations had been levied against the Golden Horde by Adán Avincus
The destruction of "New Dexia" along with talk of slavery and harboring of demons.

However the leader of Audhild one Benjamin Thomson instead threw blame to the former Queen of the Faeborne Aemiliya Alinteau.

Whatever the case Ventirion Calafax answered the challenge insisting on a duel to resolve the conflict. I will now bring you my firsthand account via the use of metaphysical magic implanted onto this Chronicle.






The atmosphere was tense, many gathered to listen and watch the two that would resolve things this day. Strangely a mist gathered that seem to bolster the Golden Hordes fighter. But first the two duelists traded words.









With that the duel commenced. The first bout so incredibly close reader that both duelists fell to the desert sand. I have done my very best to bring you the sights and sounds of the final moments of their duel so you two can witness. (What follows are captured images almost similar to a flip book with the way its animated showing the viewer the sights and sounds of combat.)











So the duel finished. Ventirion defeated and the Sainted church proven correct in this matter by the rules of combat one would assume. However things were not over and the two had yet more words to trade.







Ventirion manages to escape but then another issue arises by the words of Adan, an accusation levied towards the Oracle of Ahpros who was also present.







Surprisingly an attempt to Arrest the Oracle of Aphros takes place! I tried to get a word from the victor himself though he was too focused on the matter at hand and prepared to leave though not without noticing me.





A surprise ending to the story, what crimes will the Oracle be tried for exactly? Was the act of having non-magi arrest her merely performative?
Whatever the case the Golden Horde is now gone from Meranthe, a memory like what you've observed within this Chronicle.
What comes next for the sainted church, for Aphros now seemingly accused and the Oracle herself preparing for the possibility of death?

Addendum: Sainted Enclave Vs The Golden Horde

After the recent duel that saw what remained of the Golden Horde removed from Meranthe I was unable to speak to the victor.
However today Adan himself approached me and offered to answer questions regarding the conflict and the results. He also went on to make comments
about the future and levied some accusations towards the nations of Meranthe.





















What follows are a series of brief words as Adan and I parted ways




Adan's words had me curious so I sought comment from those he mentioned. First was the Queen of the Faeborne and Keku the leader of TAG (The Adventurers Guild).




The Queen and Keku seem to deny that Dal'thala had anything to do with their attack. in my own investigation The Queen and her brother were previously members of the guild but seem to have recently left it on reportedly good terms.

Following this encounter I sought comment from The Lord Commander of Aphros' forces given that in the absence of the Oracle she remains the military figure of authority in the city. She had this to say regarding Adan's comments.






In conclusion it seems Adan and the sainted church intend to continue their fight against Sheol and Skarnfel. Though there is obviously
some division between the Sainted Church, Aphros, and Dal'thala despite their mutual distaste of Na'ria's horde and the followers of Lyseroth and his champion Ustrea.
So while the prospect of further war seems almost certain, will Meranthe unite or will they each walk their own path forward in this coming war?

The oracles release from captivity it appears is still pending according to a letter I received but is supposed to be done shortly.

The Spirits Awakening




Within the very heart of Delphina an attempt to contact a spirit that resides within a magical blade took place.
Said to be wielded against the forces of evil that might harm the people and land of Meranthe.
Though what comes next was unexpected but the spirit does wake.

The story begins with Edward Aubreen the wielder of the blade and Natalie Melodia an spiritmancer who
would help rouse the spirit from it's slumber so that it might judge its owner.









What came next was promising though the spirit yet refused to exit it's slumber.










And then from nothing the veil between this world and the realm of spirits seemed closer together
as the slumbering spirit within the sword woke and made itself known.






















But after that exchange The Radiant of Enarr seemed to be filled with condemnation with her words.














What followed was a struggle involving all those who had gathered to watch! Even myself, I was made to fight against the powerful spirit, to quell it's fury and help prove our worthiness and show our will to fight. Though it all came down to a duel between the Spirit itself and Edward. One I have tried to capture for all to see.












With that, the blade was awakened. A sign of a new age of heroes, a true calamity for evil? We will have to see what happens next.
But today at least Meranthe does feel a little safer and the people of Delphinia galvanized in their purpose as each and every one gathered that day shared in the victory for mankind.

The Grand Spectacle



A Mystery had come to Meranthe, Darkness had spread throughout the land and divine power had waned. Leaving many devout
and Nephilim alike weakened in it's wake. The wards upon the Tower were slowly losing their strength until today they opened and a
strange figure invited all to participate in a tourney for great prizes and fame.






And so it began innocently enough. The Fighters taking part in restrained contests of skill. But then things changed...





What came next was a series of intense but still seemingly sporting fights. Even I competed and managed to capture some on this page
for you to watch.

But then the mood shifted even darker than before. The energy sapped from the combatants and the mysterious Hosts
intentions made a bit more clear.






And so everyone was trapped. Each time a magi fell their power was drained and we were taken further and further into the void.
Left with no choice the contest went on, though the mood had turned grim.











We were now inside of it. The void. All it's horror and beauty before us. But the tournament went on.

With all the combatants whittled down to two we braced ourselves for whatever the end might be.
This was not a sight that Mankind had wished for either as we looked up the finalists.
















Before the Arena descended into chaos the Champion had a meager few words for the people of Meranthe.







With that the story ends.
A mystery turned tragedy for some, even as others reveled in the chaos wrought.
Nearly every non-magi is thought to be dead, it was without a doubt a massacre.
But what does this mean for the future?

His First Chosen

Word came of a special announcement to be held in the Aphros Cathedral. I arrived not knowing what to expect. But soon everything was made clear.








A shocking revelation. As an outsider as far as I knew these rumored 'Faceless' were often thought to be Athelios' Nephilim.
Much like the Faeborne of Nemea. But perhaps they are and this is some statement by the Warden of Helheim?






The Oracle now chosen by Athelios directly, not merely his mortal servants. In many parts of the world this sort of divine choice, divine intervention if you would...
Well it might be seen as a prelude to more, a right to rule even. So despite my nervousness I stood up and asked.





These reader are dirty words to some in the church, to talk of Monarchs in Aphros. Upon saying this I was even asked to leave by one.
I was made nervous by my now awkward situation said in my ignorence of Asperan belief.
However I did think my question was valid all the same and the people of Meranthe might be interested so I help my ground and waited.





The Oracle it seemed was not interested in a display of power. But I had gotten her attention and she answered my questions!
So now seemingly validated by her words I continued after all it is not every day this Chronicler has the ear of Aphros' Oracle.
I had to ask about all that has happened recently and this new threat looming over Meranthe.




Though it seemed the Pontifice had something to say on this topic before the Oracle spoke.








The Oracle now the first Chosen Nephilim of Athelios. The Church's leadership recognizing, though perhaps downplaying any
threat this 'Council' might hold. For now it seems nothing will change in Aphros' Governance but even the Oracle leaves open the possibility
of fates whimsy.
