To be an emissary of Oy-Deniz, one must show nothing but promising skill from a young age, enough so to be scoped by the chieftain of a clan residing in 'The Capital'-- the grand point of convergence between all clans and families tunneling throughout the world. From then on, they are adopted into their family, and raised as one of their own to serve within the capital's military; they are considered one of the few treasures of Oy-Deniz, and are sent across the world to aid their benefactors, handle problems affecting Goblinkind, and retrieving objects of great power to claim for themselves.
In a sense they are the 'not-so secret' secret service, and frankly the elements which have been handpicked and encouraged in their numbers have ensured that they don't need to be secretive. There are consequences for every action, among the effective 'royals' of Goblinkind, and our friend Shatter, has been commissioned pressured by the Géar clan to handle one such debt.
An island far into the south sea of Meranthe is a major benefactor to Oy-Deniz, a small mining commune named 'Holtden', known for producing high quality, rarer metals at higher rates than mainland competition. Currently, they are under attack by a pod of Oceanic Demons, who intend on claiming the island as a new home for their kind.
It is one minute to midnight, figuratively. By will of each clan operating the gobline greater government, Shatter and an assorted gathering of her friends and family in Serenity are to depart with the intention of exterminating every demon and fel-aligned individual that moves, on the date which the demons have threatened to make their final push. They must not be a nuisance any longer, before they become genuine trouble.
Let's pick up the pieces of Goblinkind's lore; yours, and mine.
I sure as hell didn't when I was Snap and I'm so sorry. I want to take this opportunity to actually flesh deeper into the politics of the Goblin world, following the mass exodus of the Oir clan.
