Dreams of Aboslution

I have found myself asking myself many things as time passed.
While I was away from my family for so long upon that island.
As the trial comes to an end...

Why were we all allowed to dream?

If the poison that was nihilism was so potent, if it is the end result of 'hope'
Then why were we allowed to do so in the first place?
Why suffer before reaching this final destination?

Through the death of those we love, through the cycle said to be perpetual;
Through the fact we would only create to then destroy.

...'Salem'.
it's just easier to call you that haha! I'm sure you don't mind!

I learned that people like to bind themselves to their pasts.
I can't blame them, it made them who they are in the present....
Perhaps even you are no exception to this, for I got to understand you better.

-and perhaps you had every right to perhaps dislike us if you truly cared enough to...

Our greed blinds us.
I know this best.

We desired to slay, without knowing.
Yet that would have spelled our end.

We only believed in what 'we' viewed as right.
We never allowed ourselves to look at a bigger picture...
Just like those that came before us, and those before them.

I understand your apathy, I understand your nihilism.
I understand you're so very tired....

But despite all of this, does greed not lead to growth?
This progresses to learning, only for us to then create, and perhaps through understanding can generosity be found in abundance.
Something 'new' will be born, and it will be as great as what you once lost.

If we can create to destroy, then we can simply look at that destruction, what remains and create from that and smile all the same.

For there is meaning in that.

We are flawed, terribly so.

Yet I'll forgive them all the same,

For life never has just one path for us to walk.

If everything was the same, then it would simply destroy what could have been, an ever vibrant future...

Would that too not birth nihilism?

Regardless, I'm glad to have met you and your sisters.

I'm glad you could finally find some form of rest after all your hard work.

I'm glad you picked me, and allowed me to learn despite what we had lost in the process...

A new wish.

If nihilism is but another aspect of our existence, if it is something we could never hope to free ourselves from...

Then I'll live to ensure we do not succumb to it as you may have.

Even if it's just one person....

Despite our upbringings,

Despite where we came from, despite our race and whatever our end goal is?

It begins with a dream,
