After ten years of brutal warfare, the Demon King Indras has fallen, and his invading force have been transformed into magical beasts of all types, leaving the infested areas clear of their presence once more.

Yet their influence lingers, even now after they're gone. The chaos and ruination that they sought while their King was still alive was already wrought and could not be undone. All over the continent, millions mourn the ones that they lost to this grueling and terrible invasion.

But the worst has passed, and the people begin to rebuild, burying their sorrow in work and expressing their relief and anger through loud complaints of hazard pay and the toppling of crumbling ruins, respectively. Each pile of rubble cleared carries the memories lost, yet their absence unburdens those left behind of a reminder of the pain they are going through.

One such demolition project, however, is currently halted due to a most gruesome sight:

Seven heads hanging from the ruins of the first city hit- that of Ten's Citadel, the capital of what was once Aegis. A reminder left behind by the demons both of their absolute cruelty and brutality, and of the ignominious deaths that many of its citizens suffered on that fateful day. Since the initial discovery, multiple reports have come out of several bodies that have gone missing. In response to all this, a call has gone out.

"They must be honored, not forgotten or ignored."
Letters are sent out, town criers are bribed, and some merchant caravans are paid to include this particular call to action on the sides of their carts, asking for spiritmancers in particular to call forth the spirits of those lost and displayed in such a way to identify them and pass the news to their next-of-kin, if any still remain, and to observe the proper funeral rites. Beyond that, there is a general call to the people of Meranthe to attend the seance and assist with the demolition of the ruined structures, to rebuff the terrors that the Atrellyans had promised, and provide a suitable farewell to those who were the first to give their lives to stem the tide, when it was at its greatest.
