In the Expanse, near the Frontier, a chasm had laid quiet for decades- centuries even.
A chasm mostly left alone until the acts of the Atrellyans, calling upon a deadly laser to exterminate the Frontier- expanding the chasm even further.

Due to the acts of the Frontier- in preparation of the on-coming Atrellyan horde to bottleneck their forces through the Frontier and prevent
pincer maneuvers- the bridge to Nightview was destroyed, leaving only a few routes to it available:

Travel by sea to the northern Expanse
Traverse the mountain ridge deeper into the Expanse
Walk along the remnant of land next to the sea
Wayfinding to Nightview directly

In an effort to create the base and foundation for the bridge Nera wants to build, Oliphr would collect volunteers to assist him
in delving deep into the chasm to create such a structure for Nera's bridge to exist and stand firm atop of.
Locals don't know about what rests at the bottom of the chasm-
especially after the laser of the Ashen Demon had tore through the ground.

Whatever influence the laser had over the land, having subjected it to such raw power,
the creatures deep within may have become afflicted and twisted-
Such would deter any non-magi volunteers from wanting to go down into the chasm to
help create the foundation and supports required for Nightview to rejoin Meranthe.

The goal: to create a path, staging area and secure a solid base for building the foundation for the bridge to Nightview.
If possible, to bring out ores from deep in the chasm to help Nightview recover from its near destruction and rebuild.
