Reports of wicked and horrible activity are nothing new on this continent.

From the most minor criminals to the most wicked, there has always been an interest in borrowing power from other sources:

Holy, Wicked or beyond all of that.

Power is always sought after, especially when you're a foreigner.

-- A rumor tells of a failed summoning of the Demon King Indras to this realm that was attempted many years ago in the vast shadowlands. There have been attempts to recover what was there in the past, but due to ordinary and extraordinary circumstances, none was ever truly attempted other than by the hands of a handful of foolish non-magi. --

The new kids in town, due to either; lack of care, desperation or pure madness decided to raid one of these said ritual sites. What do they want there?

That is anyone's guess.

But surely they want something out of those places, or they do hope for it quite desperately.
