Across the realm word stirs, rumors of where the forces of Aetius march next as the group has made it clear that they are far from finished. Some months after their trip through Gloomlight, the Chancellor of the Republic of Paritas is seen entering the lands of sorcery for their promised meeting. Weeks following see the men and women of Aetius preparing, for what.. it is soon clear.

 

 

Soldiers make their way through portals that open on the outskirts of Aetian land and emerge within the blossoming fields surrounding Arcadia. Hooves carve paths through the floral beauty, the armies follow towards the walls of the sleeping sanctuary. They encircle its boundaries and begin to set up camps as the skies fill with something new.

 

 

Flocks of black birds caw above, Aetius is not alone. Asura and the followers of Mortyl have found their way into the ranks and join for what rests ahead.

 

"The steps we make today determine what our near future will look like. We seek an answer to a very important question. Let us find it and not stop until it rests within our hands."

Within Arcadia, sights once thought unimaginable become the daily occurrence. Armed soldiers of the Realm of Delphina march through and around the home of the Spring Maiden, as the promise of war lingers on its borders. The clatter of armor and weaponry are a dissonant tone, as the Choir of Joy lead its civilians in prayer. Faith buoys the citizenry for only so long: Anxiety runs rampant across the Duchy of Arcadia.

The Paladins of Koretheia join the ranks of the Elzara, preparing to rebuke the encroaching threat. Allies from a different time, called upon. The Light of all of their Hope, the Light of Solais shines on their backs as all who are capable stand in defense of the City of Spring.

And a new light surfaces from the depths of its Atrium... Called to serve once more.

For all that you have already done and tried to do, there is still a chance: turn back. This war is needless. Deaths will happen on both sides, no matter what. You have been deceived, and no matter the outcome of your march, you will only bring about your fall. But if these words mean so very little to you, coming from the sincerity of my heart...

Our city does not take threats upon its sanctity lightly.

Portals open amongst the fields of flowers, green that cuts to the wind once more as a few of Aetius' elite take the first turns into those verdant gateways. As night falls the day before the invasion should be, noise never quite stops within the Aetian camps.
 
Once the sun rises and Arcadia as well as their allies prepare the last of the defenses in anticipation for the Sorcerer's strikes..
 
.. they stare upon almost empty camps, a threat vanquished before any blood was ever drawn.
