A creature’s centennial loomed closer, a reminder of passing times and the toll that duty wrought upon itself. It climbed the stairs to the heaven’s tower and rested in its midst for a few months. When it returned, it did so carrying three eggs.

To one of them, it imbued the understanding of the beauty within the dark. Of the place destruction and sorrow held within the cycle.

To one more it imbued the knowledge of the light, that its beauty might shine upon creation for all eternity without risk nor impediment. 

Finally, to a third it imbued its own essence, that of balance. The twilight which connected both sides of the coin.

Then finally, they hatched.
