That Which Was Not Meant to Stir

Word of Civil War came to pass...

An inspection from the land's overlords would follow...

Disgust... Displeasure...
FEAR

...Before departure.

The odds proved against those who lied within the innermost annals of Antefinem.
A lone ship had come to depart.

It was said that the isle's Patron had forsaken them, further proven by the rain that'd follow...

The Rain of Blood... Courtesy of The Last Table
An Omen, prophecized by the Acentitus Mundus clergy
Quote:
Time... And Time... And Time again...
Humanity never ceases to surprise me...
How oft they play so mindlessly into the very image I have been plead to deny...
To decline... To dismiss... By their very own numbers...
By their countless ambassadors...
As though, they could ever truly escape their nature.

Whether I wait tens of years...
Or hundreds... They will never change.
This Cycle they're trapped within, will never change...
But it isn't their fault... No... That pleasure belongs to the Gods that pluck upon their strings...

Mere puppets...
Perhaps, that was what you meant back then...
Back then, when I was unable to scathe you...
But now you're dead... And I Am Still Here...
By the time the island was encircled by the mercenary war party, the magus' presence upon the isle was already gone. The fleet that prepared itself for their arrival, in tandem with the increased military presence, would find the presence of a large number of the clergy missing. Reports of strange emerald light shining from the peak of the Antefinem spire in the dead of night reach the ears of those who inquire, before their abrupt disappearances.
Quote:
They sin without repentance...
Then, believe themselves greater than the very evils they declare themselves against.
Hypocrites. Murderers. Conquistadors.
All devoid of greater purpose but to--
Glorify Gods that further incentivize a cycle of suffering...

I shall bring an End to The Cycle.
Their Pantheons...
Their Wars...
Their Suffering...
Even Death herself.
For The End is upon it all.

Let Their Heavens Fall.
The likes of The Last Table's provocation may've been discouraged, but with the interaction with Fortune's numbers culminating with all of the other transgressions against Antefinem's culture and way of life throughout its livelihood? The last straw was finally struck.

Terminus' attention had turned to the mainland, provoked for the final time.
What exactly this would amount to was anyone's guess.

Some say they just got out of bed one night, and left...
Men, Women, Youth... Fathers, Mothers, and for some, entire families.

Into the woods of the isle, with rumors that some lept into the sea. Some say that perhaps they were guided, but others claim that some offered resistance.
Regardless of what anyone believed, one thing remained true.
58 people disappeared from Antefinem overnight, and despite the increased military presence, there prove to be no witnesses to explain.

Across the regions far and wide...
From as far north as Dal'thala, to as far south into the Mereanthean Seas as Arcanum...
From as far east as Sanctuary, to as far west as the furthest lengths of the Silence Expanse...

Therein sprawled a psionic presence blanketing abroad -- to those psionically inclined? They could feel it, like a subtle static. To meditate on the sensation would induce drowsiness... To all others? It was seemingly noticeable... Until they'd go to sleep. Reports of strange dreams emerge amongst nonmagus populations; however, none of them seem to be quite consistent.
