Duel, if I must.

Cervantes Blackthorn accepts the verdict declared by Queen-Consort Calanthe.

"Evelyn 'Doe' Lopus, Tsuroma. You took every ounce of credit from me since that day. Why does a mere Knight like myself have to do your job, when said job had not been done in a proper manner. I ceased every opportunity to come up with alternatives, hoping a better resolution had been achieved. But no. You repeated what I have said. Word for word. Stealing my effort and painting it as if I've done nothing to help. But that is besides the point. Answer me this, why do you allow your Knights be spoken down to by their own citizens? By those who constantly beseech chaos and disorder. Though this isn't the root of my anger. I care not if you're a woman, a man, a beast, a 'thing'. Treating my comrade as though he's an incarnation of unspeakable evil. Would you allow this to continue? To be stepped on? Have your image twist and distort to befit another's fabricated lie?"

"Just say it. You like being lied to. To constantly 'pretend' that you are what people think of you. Where is your dignity? YOUR honor."

"This may be my punishment. Nay. This is an opportunity to show that I am willing to fight for what I believe in, for what I deem is wrong and unjust. Queen-Consort, I apologize. But does it look like I've a choice. I cannot refuse. I cannot back down. Nobody will treat a fellow Caethiri as though they are less than trash. Lash at me, cut me down, force me to bleed- I dare you. I'll take on both of you at once, if I have to."
