Meranthe had been a witness, with temperance and merciful grace. Again and again Sanctuary spat on these sentiments. Their values, their people, their consistent rejection of what was good, and what was just. It had come to this, their final attempt to sway the odds. To indulge in the power of Fel works, to embrace the taint of Necromantic blights.
Their final corruption.
Myridia had given them amnesty, a place within the empire. The chance to rectify old wrongs, despite this the good will of the Emperor had been tested. Their lack of faith was not in question, their values, their culture; naught had stood opposed to the ways of the Imperial throne. Yet their blatant affiliation with the dark forces of Meranthe's shadows had come to light.
And it could no longer be ignored.
Atheleon had given them decades, time to reconcile, to mend old wrongs. To see the error of their ways, to repent and turn from their path before it dove into the clutches of depravity. And still they would not bend, gnashing teeth and barking insults towards all who might have aided them. Until Sanctuary walked into the waiting arms of the Fel, and embraced their corrupting tide.
The twin armies march as one, to meet within the Shadowlands; to purge this blighted nation once and for all. Amongst these forces, was a declaration by the Crown Prince of Myridia given jointly with Jacques Marquette Gustav. A clear statement of intent.
Quote:“Half a decade ago, Felice Amarti knelt to the rightful Emperor of Myridia, promising fealty, promising that she would rid Sanctuary of the foul elements that blighted it. Her character was quickly revealed when she turned her back on the Empire, scorning the vows that had been made not a year prior.
The claws of the foul forces of Meranthe have long sunk themselves into the Shadowlands settlement; perhaps its values were once truthful, but no more. Amongst Sanctuary’s crimes are the harboring of necromancers and, most crucially, collaboration with the Camazura. The void cultists wish to bring ruin upon all that such forces can find, and so any who stand by them must perish.
Those truly innocent and yet still present in Sanctuary are encouraged to flee. Upon the arrival of our armies, Sanctuary shall burn.”
