  Open Medical Codex
Posted by: Sword of Legend - 01-01-2020, 08:19 AM - Forum: Pre-Meranthe - Replies (1)

- Greetings to all who read this open forum. This has been created for the sake of improving medical technology and practices across the board for all medical practicioners in the State of Osrona. The goal is to have a sort of open codex for the treatment of wounds based on the type of magic that had dealt the injury. These will be updated periodically so that Doctors can view these notes in case they have some complications during the treatment of a specific type of wound. -

The Catagories will Be Organized as such
Damage Type: (Physical, Mental, Spiritual, Emotion)
Element: A note on the type of element(s) that dealt the injury
Injury Description: A detailed discription and the events that caused the injury
Treatment Descritpion: A Detailed Summary of the procedures the medical practitioner had done to treat the injury
Useful Tips: Quick useful tips based on the sort of magics and elements the medical practitioner used.

With this open codex, we can help others who wish to learn medical procedures, having your location and where to find you can help as well, structured as so
Name:
Years of Experience:
Contact Information:

Sincerely
-- Séven

Damage Type:
Physical, Spritual?, Mental

Element:
Nature, Possibly occult???

Injury Description:
A large wound at the center of the abdomen, with a seething sort of corruption that radiated from the wound itself. The flesh had been rotting, and the skin was deformed, almost purple. A feeling of malevolent energy had effected my own body as I moved my hand over the wound itself

Treatment Descritpion:
There was a potential curse of some sort tied to the injury, and due to the patient needing to remain anonymous, very little information was given on how the wound was recieved. Their Circuits from what they could feel were not afflicted. When they were found, they could barely speak, almost like an animal at their most primal instincts. Holy magic was used to deter the malevolence while the rotting flesh was grafted away with a surgical knife. Time magic used to slow down the pain by slowing down the nerve endings from sending signals of pain to the brain. Using thread and needle, the wound was sown shut. Their mental state seemed to improve after the wound was healed...but they haven't been the same since from what I could tell. Much more brooding, whether it was disallusionment from their experience or if the curse is still effecting the mental state has yet to be determined.

Useful Tips:

The Corruption Must be treated with Arcane magic from what I could tell.

  Siegfried's Tower
Posted by: Lokus - 01-01-2020, 06:01 AM - Forum: Pre-Meranthe - Replies (1)

[Image: grim-reaper-let-it-die-tower-of-babel-to...review.jpg]

The tower of Siegfried, founded on the principal of strength
Will you survive the test?

Quote:The tower of Strength, formed shortly after Mordred's defeat in order to exemplify the glory of the fallen kingdom of Astya. Siegfried Astor, said to have been obssessed with the acquisition of power, formed the tower as a means to test his descendants of their measure of power. After his children had failed to make it to the top floor, Siegfried bemoaned their fraility and hid himself in the tower in hopes that someone would one day come and pass his various tests. Centuries later, Nemein Sparda happened upon the forgotten ruins, showing an interest in the cryptic message left on the plaque. Unafraid of its message, Nemein seeks to climb the tower with his Myrmidons and to further his desire to obtain strength.

Attendees:
Nemein, Myrmidons, any outsiders within a positive standing of Esshar/Knights

Risk:
Chance of Injury, Death (for when you do big dumb shit)

Tone:
Strength, MUSCLES, creepy dead strength obsessess spirits.

Specific Request:
The tower should focus on the physical, mental, and or spiritual strength. So long as it's strength focused (including the challenges) I'd be okay with it.

  The Cobalt Guard
Posted by: Ori - 12-31-2019, 09:56 PM - Forum: Pre-Meranthe - No Replies

The Cobalt Guard serves as the personal retainers for House Pelleaux, representing and patronized by Lord Claude vey Pelleaux. These magi are hand selected by Lord Claude himself, along with the Commander of The Guard Adrielle Solenne. Their jurisdiction remains prominent upon the grounds of the Pelleaux Manor and the western gate. The reach of the Guard often waxes and wanes with the needs of the Pelleaux. Currently it extends widely into the entire city of Osrona as well, considering they are the primary force responding to the mayor of Sudbury as well as the head of a major noble house.

RANKS
Quote:
Commander
Marshal
Guard
Recruit

RECRUITMENT
Quote:
Recruitment is held to a high standard and often experience is required for a position within the Guard. Though personal recruitment for those that catch they attention of a leader of the small Knightly Order isn't unheard of. It is more natural for an aspiring Cobalt Guardsmen to apply for the position. Many Knights retiring from the Order find work within personal retinue of House Pelleaux as the Guards focus is on a much more narrow scale around the city of Osrona. However, for those not of higher birth or Knightly status often experience is required. Exceptional Constables of the Osronian Royao Constabulary have been offered a position.

Along with experience serving the city in some fashion often comes a basic requirement of one's education. An intermediate knowledge of reading, writing, history, law, and heraldry is a must. As the Guard is often lent to those scholarly organizations supported by House Pelleaux, such as the Covenant of the Arcane or the Knowledge Seekers guilds.

The full induction into the guard involves an Oathing ceremony to a member of House Pelleaux. Often overseen by the majority of the Guard itself. This Oath is framed to avoid complications with similliar such oaths to organizations such as the Order of First Light. Often a Radiant will help oversee the Cobalt Guards, currently Radiant Valero cos Montclaire acts in such a position.

  The Winking Star - Algus

  Algus
[Image: 6fc1223c5ac040e5ae3254ec8de94c92.jpg]

It is lesser known that there is a star not honored with a startower. Not proudly displayed as a resident in the sky above along with the venerable lion. Algus, the Deceiver. The star has been referred to as the Winking Demon Star and the Winking Star by nature of it's waxing and waning notable with the naked eye, leaving it invisible at some times, but it always opens again. Always watching for the vulnerable, or desperate. It is a star that those who do not succeed in the trials to become a Deacon sometimes fall to in their failure, and most of all, it is associated with subterfuge and misdirection. This negative stigma was obtained due to it's presence in the sky during times of strife, loss, or confusion in many people's lives throughout the years. The uneducated more than willing to drop negativity onto something unusual or different. And as such the true nature of this 'star' has remained unknown. It's influence on the lives of mortals has had one recurring theme, and that is the pattern of dark times often are paired with people being or claiming to be effected by this celestial body.
________________
Signs of being effected by Algus is a purple cosmic aura and/or energies overall when employing said magic. The most vulnerable being the innocent or naive who are inclined to turn a blind eye to something too good or convenient. Something not seen often as most cosmic magi take care to learn well of the stars via the Faith. But no magi finding themselves connected to this star has ever managed to steer off the twisted path Algus sets them upon. Often attempting to reach their goals through methods absurd or underhanded under the thoughts of a revered power giving them exemption. Turning a blind eye to masked evil has it's cost.
Beware the winking eye above.

Heart [Epilogue - An Family] A Wagon Going Anywhere
Posted by: Ravenette - 12-31-2019, 03:48 PM - Forum: Pre-Meranthe - No Replies

[Image: 86467945-612b-4eea-b625-97225c24bbd3.jpeg]

"Mama!"  She looked over her shoulder into the wagon, ocean blue eyes watching the little brunette pup slap his hands against Grisela's.  Timothy's claws were not quite yet to the point of being sharp enough to rend flesh, but it was good practice for when the little Beastkin would have to be careful how he touched people.
Raha- or rather, Rhea An- turned her gaze back towards the pair of horses leading their wagon out into the wilds away from Osrona.  From the wilds she'd came, and it seemed to the wilds she'd return.  With the coming of war on Moonfall, and the amount of threats she'd started to receive from those around her for marrying a woman from the village, it had seemed the safest bet.
Was it giving up on her dream?  No, she didn't think so.  After all, she'd gotten to live it for almost three years.  That dream was now affording her the chance to live out her life in peace away from the danger of Osrona.
She'd been born a wild cat, and so she would die, in her opinion.  Now, however, she was not alone.  Ruby red lips pursed up into a smile as a hand raised, and forth from her clawed fingers the essence of the Timestream wound around the cart, those within, and the horses drawing it.
With just a note on the door, the An family vanished into the wilds in a burst of magic.  A once lonely Felinae, a Witch, and a young Ookami child to view the world anew through the eyes of trailblazers.

Because some happy endings, are just the start of a new adventure.

  Swears, Curses, and Slang
Posted by: Theori - 12-31-2019, 08:42 AM - Forum: Pre-Meranthe - No Replies

Here's a quick list of some swears, curses and slang you can use, and what they mean!

  • 'Woke under the wrong star today?': Said to someone acting out of character, usually if they're quicker to anger than usual.
  • '[An] Ari': Slang term for currency whilst an Ariadni rules, due to the practice of minting coins with the face of the reigning monarch on them.
  • 'Playing at Paladin': An insulting phrase used when an individual acts above their station; commonly agreed to have originated in the First Light.
  • 'Add an 'orn' to your name': A sarcastic phrase used against an individual who is bragging about minor wrongdoing.
  • '[A member of the] Last Sight': Insulting or fearful term, used by Rhoynish individuals to refer to a member of the First Light; the term originated in the Conquest of Rhoynur, as a First Light soldier was often the last thing a Rhoynish warrior would ever see.
  • 'The stars are calling them': a phrase used to refer to someone absentminded.
Enjoy about ten minutes of effort!

  The Philosopher's Stone
Posted by: Matthew - 12-31-2019, 07:52 AM - Forum: Pre-Meranthe - Replies (1)

Quote:Legends say that a civilization was brought to ruination by one stone. Three hundred years ago, a village on the outskirts of Esshar had a strong cult presence that controlled the settlement. The First Light was preparing to swiftly raze this heretical village to the ground, only to find something peculiar when they arrived. The village had destroyed itself. It was a ghost town.

Literally, a ghost town. Tormented spirits wandered the area, and the corruption made it a breeding ground for demons. Deciding that it was a lost cause and that there was nothing to salvage from this area, the Knights abandoned the village. Not worth the effort to wipe this area clean, for what they presumed to be nothing. That's what the records say, anyway.

So, where did talk of a stone come from? To put it simply, it's an urban legend. Some say that it originated from a refugee that escaped from the town just in time, others say that it was the ghosts that said it. Still, the eradication of this settlement stumps historians to this day, and it doesn't help that it's surrounded in millennia-old, baseless rumors. That is, until now.

The Commissioner of The Knowledge Seekers has personally taken interest in uncovering these ruins.

Attendees:
Cicero cos Morneau + others invited through IC.

Risk:
Chance of Death

Tone:
Mayhem, Forbidden Knowledge, Sacrifice

Specific Request:
A spire shard tier development material called "The Philosopher's Stone". Crystal development. High risk for a high reward, feel free to get creative with any rewards that are handed out. Story driven event.

"Know this - Osrona and Order will suffer for what they've done to us."
"This is for Caritas. This is for every one of us that has fallen."
"These lands are not yours."
"Stay away, or die."
After the public execution of the Knight Solon and the Moonfall's Festival, the lands surrounding Osrona have become far more dangerous to roam, for there's a wicked presence that ruthlessly hunts down those that belong to Osrona in any way possible; this being does not discriminate, targeting anybody who belongs to the city, from any walks of life. Wounded people, spilled blood, destroyed possessions and merchants having their caravans destroyed.. something is terribly, terribly furious, and witnesses have been made.
A testimony of those that have been witness to the scenes of violence speaks of horror that targets anyone from Osrona, making even the areas very close to the city no longer safe.

Quote:
"I thought it's going to kill me! This-- this madman just butchered magi, one after another! I was confident that it would be stopped, but it ripped through them without stopping! By the stars.. I ran as far as I could. I'm.. I'm not going outside again. Not until something is done about it."
"You heard about it too? One of the servants to upper class was attacked as well. Poor girl... she came back home terrified and covered in blood."
"Isn't this about the rise of Occultists as of late? This madman claims he fought for Cornelia, for Caritas' fall and for the new age. Is this why he's attacking all from Osrona?"
"I heard the madman tore through several magi at once without slowing down at all... is it really that bad? I think people exaggerate it. This has to be some Occultist, he'll be dealt with."

The rumors linger in the city, but medical reports do not lie; at least several magi from different walks of life in Osrona have returned severely wounded, and many more non-magi. The rising threat is as dangerous as ever.

30% Rpl to power Energy spec unarmed style
Fast Projectile on Q with 15 second CD that has 8 spell damage. Also Gcde.
Special guarantees a 3 second silence on hit

It's brand new yes, but we should be cautious of how overturned it is to begin with. Let's start the discussion.

I think the spell dmg and the silence be tuned back a bit and make it at least 30 sec cd to match the other hidden style specials there are until they all find reasonable balance changes or players will just flock to this specific style because of how much better it is.
