Quote:Dimmed lighting greets whoever crosses this establishment's threshold. Enough illumination grants adequate vision of rows of wooden shelves containing jars, elixirs, and spirits. Most canisters appear polished down and labeled with descriptive words as indicators. Faint scents of alchemic ingredients waft about, a collection of appealing smells dispersed by burning incenses. Someone usually tends to behind-the-counter requests as well as food orders. Lower-scale furnishings decorate the bottom-level, however travelling upstairs reveals an entirely unique atmosphere. Crimson fabrics cover each seat with a designated sitting area positioned off to one side; it seems to be reserved for those wishing to sit alongside a larger party. Wooden paneling indicates where the stage is set, piano and other instruments waiting to be played beneath their spotlights. Soothing, docile tones of a band might be heard upon arrival, enhancing the cozy space.

Ruined kingdoms littered Esshar. Devasted by natural causes, overthrown and turned into disarray from civil unrest, conquered and destroyed in wars... Those were common ways any mighty kingdom could be brought to its knees and made a mere shell of its former self. Lukas felt drawn to these ancient ruins, tomes told captivating stories, this one far more interesting than the rest...
In the southernmost regions of Esshar rests a kingdom of interest. One that raises a question:
'What lengths would one go for the one they loved?'
The tomes tell of a kingdom under the reign of two rulers, married, deeply in love with one another. They existed in bliss until one disappeared, the product of unrest, sources claimed. As the text puts it, the other raised Hel itself in search of their beloved. The kingdom fell into complete chaos and subsequently destroyed itself from the inside out. No one knows what happened, why it happened, who did what. The bodies of the two rulers were never found, none heard from them since, decades upon decades passed. Searches concluded.
Lukas would embark to this city, to see the extent of the lengths the ruler went to find their beloved. Did it align with their own? Thoughts of such a union, one official, circled through their mind for months on end. Just what exactly bound those two together? A ring, a pendant? Sources say how the two wore such eye-catching, matching rings on their left hand.
Were they lucky, to even find their bodies, let alone unlooted, they'd claim such rings and use it for something special.
Attendees:

Tone:

Pshiren, Angel of Song
(Fh-shai-ren)
Pshirite religion believes that Pshiren was born of her mother, the concept of song itself. She is the patron of Bards, Artists, and Teens. Another of her titles is "Protector of Youthful Love". Pshirite Priests are often young and beautiful, or talented artistically- though whether this is by nature or by divine whim itself is not certain.
Pshiren's main domain is considered to be Music.
Pshirite religion holds three days sacred most of all, beyond normal Osronan religious holidays. The (Third of March), Passionata, is a day devoted to cherishing youthfulness- often celebrated by adorning of make-up and veneration of one's elders. The (14th of June), Amalia, is a day famous for music festivals- including performances of a traditional Pshirite piece known as the Blade Dance, wherein a chorus of musicians play while swordsmen perform an intricate dance of swords and spears. Last is upon the New Year, Lamenta, where Pshirite believers lament the losses of friends and family, and fast for a whole day in grief.
The Avatar of Pshiren is rumored to be a silver-haired woman of fair skin, wearing ornate fashion armor and with a sword at her hip and a harp in one hand.
Harpe, the Bold Star
Seen most prominently on nights of a new moon, Harpe is called the Bold Star for the rich red it fills the sky around it with. It is associated with the direction of East-Northeast, and thus considered an omen of a life off the straight and narrow when one is born or guided by the star. Considered to be home to Pshiren, it is believed by Pshirite believers to consist of a plane built in rich reds and golds, a palace within which her faithful can hone their craft forever. The rich red color of Harpe in the sky has led some artists to refer to Sanguine Red as "Bold Red".

So it occurs to me that rather than pestering admins individually, as is typically done when people have questions, it might be worth it to have a forum that's set up much like the Applications forum, only for private/semi-private questions people have for the Administration that aren't necessarily 'App' related.

Jingle Jangle | Nuo#5650
Extra Attendees: None for this particular stretch of the journey.
Event Synopsis: Some relics and legendary weapons have been in circulation for generations, passed down amongst royalty and knighthood, the heroic and the worthy. Others, still, slumber in tombs constructed by better, wiser people - ones who figured that the great weapons of the past may be better off remaining hidden and mythical rather than at risk of ending up in the unintended hands of the ill-intentioned and maligned.
But in many ways, that's what makes them an attractive target for exactly that kind of person. Seeking the location of a weapon to aid in her oft-discussed 'ascension', Moonfall's jester quickly took her leave from the valley - a soul in search of answers, keen not to return home until she found at least some of what she was looking for. It wouldn't come as a surprise to Moonfall's residents, who had progressively seen Jingle get more and more restless and excited over her latest plot. Her long search takes her up to the mountains - the one place she had yet to check, as far as she knew. If she was really lucky, it'd be the first true step of her journey.
Goal: Scale a mountain, find one of those wise old mountain hermits that know things the average person doesn't - someone who ideally knows the resting place or at least a close approximation to the resting place of exactly the thing the harlequin is hunting for.
Tone: Call to Adventure
Risk: Chance of Injury as always, but probably on the low end. This is, in essence, a prologue to something more significant that will, appropriately, carry more risk.
Reward: Information, and any other small rewards appropriate for challenges faced in the course of the event.

| Judges and Trials; a Pillar of Justice |

Okay, so here are my thoughts on a solution for a couple of problems.
The problems are thus:
- Rushed Executions
- Lack of real felt importance of the Church and Clergy
- Imprisoned players upset at the current farce of a justice system.
Let me preface this by saying that I'm making this thread with no hostility.
Right now, the First Light has a lot of power and authority. One aspect of this are their abilities to arrest, imprison, and judge those involved in the former two cases. A high ranking member of the First Light (say for example an Exarch) is currently quite literally Judge, Jury and Executioner. Now, while this isn't necessarily a horrible, terrible very bad thing, we have a perfectly good group that could decentralise a little of that power: The Church.
Right now there's a relatively widespread (from what I've seen) opinion that the Church is an organisation that in a word is boring. Some of the remaining clergymember's players are trying to fix that, which is good! However, they could use a little help in that matter, so I come now to the meat of my proposal. It is thus: introduce criminal trials for Major or above crimes. Minor crimes are usually relatively short stints in prison, so it hardly needs to have significant discussion of punishment. Major crimes, however, carry harsh penalties that can leave prisoners with very little chance for RP for extended periods of time without much in the way of significant thought behind decisions. So, have trials for them.
Trials in this context wouldn't include lawyers -because lets be real, we don't want to get too complicated. Instead it would be the arresting member of the First Light (or appointed substitute, such as an Exarch) against the Accused, with both arguing their cases and a Judge delivering a sentence based on the situation. Trials could also be made open to the public if particularly important, such as a trial where execution is to be argued. Clergy ranking Bishop or above would serve as judges -a role they're already given in established canon, if not in practicality. There's actually a room that'd be pretty fitting for a courtroom in the Church, or alternately a Courthouse could be added in the planned map changes coming soon.
So, this might be extra work. Why do I think its merited?
Having one organisation handling both arresting and sentencing criminals can be rough, and not allow for much in the way of interesting RP. Having the Church act as Judges would allow scenarios where, for example, an Exarch pushes for a harsh sentence whilst the Judge disagrees, leading to interpersonal conflict that is unlikely to be legally settled through combat. Or perhaps a captured criminal's allies ambush a group of First Light escorting him/her to the courthouse? Captured, significant antagonists get interesting roleplay prior to their death. Antagonists in general get at least the illusion of agency of the way they go out, rather than a capture and quiet, execution at the hands of the same person or group.
I think its worth making a proper addition, but as always, I encourage other opinions, agreeing or disagreeing, so go ahead and leave some feedback!

Printings of this newspaper are suddenly found available throughout Osrona, in particular the district of Sudbury. They are completely free of charge.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to the First Edition of The Revolutionary. Allow me to clear the air about this newsprint and everything contained within.
This newspaper is indeed printed by the New Syndicate, an organization founded in the aftermath of the Old Syndicate's disbanding. Elevans has, for all of our knowledge, abandoned our cause and vanished into Esshar. The raid upon the Old Syndicate's headquarters marked it's downfall, and most of the Underbosses and Enforcers were cut down by the Order, either then or in time. This has left myself, Rosalie Ar-Marno, as acting leader of the New Syndicate.
The New Syndicate is dedicated to the reconstruction of Sudbury's district, as well as the protection of it's people from the violence, corruption, and abuse of the Order, Nobility, and Church. Know that we have renounced the violent, terrorist ways of our predecessors, and are working within the law to expose those that would harm Osrona while maintaining positions of 'Justice'.
The New Syndicate would like to make it known to the public that there are still rogue elements of the Old Syndicate in operation. Any Anti-Knight or Terrorist Actions are being caused by these sects. If they cannot be brought into line, they will be captured and brought to justice.
Now then, without further ado!
-----------------------------------------------------------
The front page of the newspaper is slathered with a violent artist's rendition of Erika cos Salis, the woman in some sort of blood-frenzy.
It is with great shock that I find the first article that we bring to be one of such terror. Erika, of House Salis, both Noble and Knight, was arrested in the middle of Caelfall's beautiful park by at least a dozen knights, and stripped of her duties immediately, as she attempted to murder Aria cos Montclaire in broad daylight, even after others attempted to restrain her. Erika was successful in mutilating Aria, much to the horror of the citizens watching her. Many described her seemingly possessed by violence, having suffered some sort of mental snap that could only be satisfied by spilling her rival's blood on the ground. Aria was unable to even muster the strength to defend herself against the hidden cruelty and malice of Erika.
This incident is just one of many amongst the knights recent outbreak of violence, both in and outside of the city. The Order swears to protect the people of the city, and then those that make up it's army perform atrocious acts like what Erika has performed. It brings many to question if the Order bothers to question the mental state of those they recruit, or if they simply seek out the most powerful Magi that they can find in order to ensure their military strength over the public's safety.
-----------------------------
War with Moonfall Looms on the Horizon
There is little doubt in anyone's mind left that mysterious Moonfall Village is indeed, ally to no one but the Demons it worships. The rumors you've heard are true. The Order has conducted deep investigations into the village, and has discovered that the tales of the occult, the murders of innocents, the torture and sacrifice of Knights - Every bit of it, proven fact. We strongly advise all peoples to avoid the area around the village, as no one can promise your safety from these wicked folk. With the most recent captures of Knights Jasper and Solon, the village sends a firm message that it does not care about Osrona's military might, and that it will continue to deal with the Dark Arts as it pleases.
War, at this point, seems inevitable. The safety of Osrona's people is at stake, and we are all aware that the existence of these people, if left alone, will sow the seeds of destruction across the entire continent. If the Order does not take action soon, how many more must die until they do?
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Cicero cos Mornaeu, Heir of his family's titles, has recently declared himself an enemy of any change in the government. He publicly stated that he does not care for the cries of the people, and that he'd rather preserve the current corrupt state of our politics than ensure the people of Sudbury be given livable conditions. It has become clear that certain nobles value power more than anything else, and don't mind hatred being thrown towards them should it mean they get to live in a comfortable manor while others sleep in the mud.
The Noble House of D'Arnette still continues to support and maintain the practices of Dark Arts. While they've registered these abilities with the Church, it seems largely a farce when they've been known to use Shadow and Blood magics in broad daylight without any form of restraint. The male heir of the house in particular has been known to brandish these techniques with refined prowess. Rumors continue to circulate that members of this house use the homeless of Sudbury as subject for human experimentation, however no hard evidence has been found. Rest assured, if it exists, we will find it.
Multiple reports have been filed by merchant caravans and civilians alike about recent violent actions from the Order. The statements all seem to claim that members of the Order harassed them, forcibly searched, assaulted, and even stole items. There have been no official statements as to whether these claims are being investigated.

"Six cards, there are, when you do a reading. Always six, always from different parts of the sky, if you have them. Three are acceptable but the reading will be inaccurate. Always use Old Rhoynish charts if you read the language and possess the charts. Some are quite rare but hold stars that are not listed in today's, including the Church's. Especially theirs."
"The Rhoynish people had quite different ideas about the stars and what they did, and had to use crude methods to even detect some of them. However, their charts were remarkably accurate and still are today. Some theorize that previous purges of the older, more 'heretical' charts were responsible for today's less accurate ones. When possible, I will try to include both today's modern name, and the Old Rhoynish variant."
A clearly home-bound set of celestial star charts has been quietly been making its way among the esoteric booksellers, historians, and more odd individuals, distributed from somewhere outside the city. Each one is intricately designed and released once every few years, labeled on the opposite side with thousands of stars, their locations, and a translation from Old Rhoynish. Some particularly notable stars are described in small leaflets distributed with the charts and usually found in combination. Frequently, these cards also comment on how the behavior of these stars influence the Leo constellation.
Important Stars Distributed Thus Far:
(Old Rhoynish names will be given in brackets when known)
* The Harlequin Star (Dasyatus)
* The Shield of Flame (Forfang)
* The Eastern Tower (Pleione)
* Irisa, the Eye of Malachite (Akroph)
* Pyria, the Red Fox (Goah, the Red Watcher)
* The Eastern Crown (Dronlax)
* Caridea, the Golden Furnace (Astraosh, the Hammer)
* Aranea, the Web Star (Unknown)
* Vulpes Major, the Foxfire Star (Ustgal)
* Elianna, the Ruby Monkey (Sarmag)
* Dracaena, the Southern Eye (Nelegch)
* Sepiida, the Anvil (Unknown)
* Betta, the Tiny Ship (Yta, The Wandering Eye)
* The Big Leaf Star (Unknown)
* Hydromalis, the Spitting Star (Dragontongue)
* Apodemus, the Nightingale Star (Unknown)
* Lacerta, the Dragonfly Star (Unknown)
* The Big Rod Star (Tiyane, the Spear)
* Diceros, the Western Pickaxe (Unknown)
* Bombus Borealis (Wleyn, the Dancing Star)
* Unknown - (Yauntu, the Harrowing Eye) [The card containing this star, when found, is always found badly smudged into near-unreadability.]
