To the concern of its wardens, the pond of the northern duchy's mother goddess has for years given no response except for the bubbling of black and brackish waters. This great ancestor of Sirenia sang only lament after lament, with many turning their backs to her cry's midst the long string of bad fortune. Its famed Duchess hid from the world, ashamed of the sinful condition of her own being. Her son, once the victorious leader of the Fel crusade, forced into exile.

But life moves on. To stanch the growing sorrow, food and concerts and new idols would be the consequence, for if the stupefaction of the country could continue, all the treasuries of the Delphina were made on offer.

Yet even an endless amount of bread and circuses could not cease the passage of time. As wars between kingdoms of men rage across the continent, it was reminded, even after one hundred years of the Lumin King's reign, that history would not hold its breath forever.

Under the cover of night, the lights which shine across Nereides's seaside shore go out one by one. Scouts sent to check upon their keepers remit no response. Great ships of war were seen on the horizon.
