Many years have passed since the one known as Voyd had first acquired the Litany of the Undead. In that time there has been an undoubted rise in the activity of the undead. Though the witches and cultist of Meranthe had been all but weeded out, the Undead have flourished. The Champions Arioch, Bracchus and Mara having established helm at the forefront of Voyd's Army of the Damned and made statements of their capablities several times among the finest warriors of Meranthe, inflicting death upon many whom they have encountered.. only some living to tell the tale of their horrors. Who were once the hunters had found themselves hunted. No safety to be found while the creatures of the night lurked within the shadows. What was once one had now become many, like an infestation upon the grounds of Meranthe did the number of undeath spread, and with them, the rot and withering of the life within the continent. Now realizing that he had within his grasps potentially the most capable militia within all of Meranthe, the one known as only Voyd had this to say.

The time has now come, to achieve my own goals. To spite the people who would spit upon the grave of Ozmandius Tal. To spite the people who have condescended upon me my entire existance. To defy the reality in which we exist, to rise.. as a god amongst these mortal men. The shadow of death ever so slowly escapes me.. Soon, I shall exist to conquer Meranthe.. then Eternia.. and then, even the Void itself. No longer shall I exist beside this alias which I have created.. no.. The world shall now know the birth of..

With none existing to challenge his claim upon the title which has lingered since the death of the previous Tal Ozmandius, Voyd would stake claim, with the backing of his militia and the hidden settlement Perdition under his reign; none could contest.
