You are the legacy of the Folhammar Clan. Raised with the values of loyalty, might and authenticity. You are not moralists.
Must be born with black hair. You can dye it or weird magic shenanigans can change it after spawn.
At one point your mother was killed by your father, her room burned in fire, the Clan Hall filled with smoke. Afterwards, occult was outlawed and your father seldom mentioned her.
Not long after, your grandfather, the Herald of Ymir was also killed.
Giant or Drakanite a valid race.
Thalia
Your mother was something of a strange presence in your life, for the time she was in it.
Though somewhat strict, she was fairly sweet to you and your siblings. So long as you did what she wanted you to in terms of studying, practicing and excelling, she had a tendency to spoil you with imported sweets, clothes, and other goods. (On the flipside, she was cold and distant when you didn't live up to her high expectations. It was an odd combination with how encouraging she was while you were doing well, and has probably given at least one of you some kind of horrible complex.)
While she wasn't particularly strict about directing you to get interested in anything specific, you were all exposed to alchemy, and unfortunately, economics. As the operator of ThaliAlchemy and its sub-branches, it was clear she wanted one of you to inherit it- but you weren't pushed to. However, if you did express interest in alchemy, she was happy to shower you in the best mentors and books from across the world- though this goes for most fields of study you wanted to learn.
Being the occultist she was, you were probably raised blunt and honest. This may or may not have caused you problems growing up. Emotions and opinions were to be expressed.
Jokul
Your father was neglectful and is rare to show affection to anyone. While conversations were occasional, this giant was not a strong role model or presence in life.
The biggest influence he may have had is one from afar as a protector. Of putting Vdalion first.
Those that became warriors or smiths had slightly more interaction with him through teaching. None of you were raised as snobby royals/nobles/anything like that. Don't come here for that roleplay.
In recent times (after the death of Thalia + Surtyr), Jokul has become particularly reclusive & void of emotion. Imagine lots of struggles to connect.
Additional Information:
- Your mother was a renown, rich merchant who ran ThaliAlchemy and was briefly the Empress. She predominantly raised you. Nannies helped.
- Jokul was not the stereotypical '50s dad. Jokul believed the purpose of the father was to make the children and then it was up to the mother. He might not love you.
- Your father is Emperor of Vdalion.
- One of you will inherit the mythical Folhammar and the clan. You must be an artificer for this path.
- The one that inherits ThaliAlchemy will get your mother's draconic hoard and more attention from Jokul. You must be an alchemist for this path.
- There's a lot of little secrets and lore that you can find out in IC.
- If you go occult you will be purged of it but that can be a fun storyline.
- The main expectation is to make a cool story. A short-lived character is fine, as long as you don't AFK before 18. Open to creative takes.
- New players invited.
- There's a handful of you... you should be free to spawn whenever; unfortunately Chance has yet to put in the pregnancy/mating mechanics so IC dates have been forgotten.
- You may have some bastard siblings from prior/after.
- You have a cousin called Halvar and an uncle called Ivarr who is very well-respected, one of your fathers few friends.
- Your grandfather Surtyr would have been someone you could very well look up to, HolyFire magic. Forger of Folhammar, ideal of the clan, etc.
