From an old, damaged scrap of paper, mysteries hint and lie--a formula that mentions the works of artificers of old. From one such note, cradled between an old manuscript's pages within the Institute's many stores of knowledge--a mention of a rare material, the rumor of someone who, once, worked with it.

'...tyrium, refined through... careful application... enhanced abilities...'

Old ink smudged and damaged with age, enough still, to intrigue a curious mind who found it. Chasing rumors of 'refined tyrium', an artificer seeks to follow the legacy of the one who knew how to create such rare materials, and perhaps unlock the secret of how to do so.

The rumors were fruitful--the abandoned workshop of a long-ago artificer, who worked with the rare material [Cold Iron] was discovered. Its remote location wasn't all that kept it from being disturbed all these years, however...

For a clever mind lays clever traps, and upon arrival it's clear--all of the Artificer's defenses are still active, even after all this time.

The sleeping workshop slowly grinds to life as new arrivals spark old wards to life.

Knowledge, after all, has a cost.
