Quote:Father once told me a story, you know? Of a great Temple amidst the dunes. Isolated from man, beast, and all-between. A place where the sands stung like bull-whips and the skies bloomed with a scorching sun. And through it all, this temple persisted. They lived in simplicity; and for that, all needs were met. They wanted not, they desired not. And by the bending of Time's whims, they found their Temple an 'Eternal' bastion amidst the dunes. At least, so they thought.
Did their bending of the natural order gain the Ire of those above? Or did they simple ask for more than could be given? It is unclear, but according to Father--in a single night, the temple had become a shell of it's former self. Dilapidated, rotted. The stone-work had faded, the verdant groves that had been unnaturally abundant within the temple's confines had become rotten, and crude. The Waters once pure, ran still with pestilence. In a single night, had that 'Bastion' against the Sands; become a Tome for the many scholarly disciples whom found it as home.
Of course, Father spoke of it as abject riches. A place where, if we found it, we'd be set for life. Treasures. And loot. And a haul like none other...greedy bastard. I wrote it off as another dream of a lost soul amidst the Dunes.
...But what if the Temple was real? What if, somewhere out there, lays a place where the confluence of Time had once held itself in high-praise. In this world rife with gods, who seek naught' more then strife and personal gain, I would put my faith in few. And support, in far fewer.
In these times, there is only one power I trust. And that is the natural order. Maybe, if I can find this temple--I can see where they went right, where they found themselves blessed by the Flow. Or, what went wrong--and how to make amends with the World itself, in hopes for the Order's favor, in the coming; and ever-so-harsh years.
If I can find it, I'll return home. And then? We'll see what lies within. Wish me luck, whatever few higher beings might be watching me. I'll need it.
