For them to want to be wiser, quicker, and stronger than those that came before them.

A group of youths from The Ruby Empire, through questionable means, have chartered a ship for a 'small' excursion. 

To seek secrets in the land of those who came before them. And to establish a deeper understanding and connection to the past. 
They chase a legend, one hidden deep within the misty mountains

A monastery in Izhura, hidden away though not abandoned by any stretch.  It is said that the path becomes clear only once in a generation, to allow those that seek the guidance of the monks and their draconic protector to prove themselves and obtain what they may seek.
