Stories often speak of terrible monsters, scary Demons that skulk in the forests, ferocious beasts that lie in wait in the caves, even so far as down in the oceans and the skies above. Things seen and unseen, creatures that do not fear Day or Night. Creatures that many witness, for that's why their stories exist. But what about those that go unspoken, or hardly past rumor. Those that people would call you a madman for speaking of as if it was real. At Night and in the Day. They sneak and they prowl, they watch while they stalk. At times you swear you can feel their gaze, but when you look you see nothing but Shadow, cast by the ever so comforting Light. The question of if something was truly there, if you were just being paranoid, your mind playing tricks.
You tell yourself that there is nothing and yet you find your gaze always over your shoulder, behind every building, behind every sign, even your own shadow that is cast by the gaze of the Light that you revel in day by day. Most dare not look to long in that Shadow, afraid of what they might see, even if it doesn't seem real, even if you wish to believe it not. But what would happen should you come face to face with that which you wish to believe is not there, in that place so close by, cast by the Light that Shadow, where even that Light dares tread.
