Across Meranthe, scholars and seers began to speak of a budding order that was beginning to spread. It was known was the Continuance. It is not nation, nor is it faith alone, it is a covenant formed in response to the deeper truths of the world. That all life is bound to the lifestream and that it's heart lies within Yggdrasil. Who began this covenant one may ask? Those scholars and seers all agreed on one name. Maesperara. 

The Continuance exists to observe, preserve, and safeguard the flow of memory, soul, and meaning that passes between life, death, and rebirth. 

Foundations

Maesperara founded the Continuance, based upon the belief that all life, spirit, and destiny are bound to the Lifestream and Yggdrasil. The belief that harmony between these forces must be actively preserved rather than passively trusted. The Continuance stands to mend the flow of the Lifestream where they are strained, exploited, or corrupted. While they also work to safeguard the balance between the mortal nations, spirits, and unseen realms. It's members act as witnesses, keepers, and mediators, recording memories so they may one day return to Yggdrasil, guiding renewal rather than decay. The Continuance aims to act as a unifying purpose that transcends borders, creeds, and even gods themselves. Though they do not do so maliciously, they are dedicated to continuity, balance, and the right of all beings to exist within the great cycle.

Rankings

A loose term as no rank grants command over another within the Continuance.

The Living Root

The one who embodies the Continuance itself. Not chosen by decree, but by resonance within the faith's memory lives fully within a single soul.

The Heartwood

Keepers of the deep remembrance. Those who have touched truths that cannot be unlearned, loss, renewal, or Yggdrasil's quiet mercy. They act as advisors, witnesses, and help keep the Continuance steady during times of turmoil.

The Sapbound

Those who channel the beliefs of the Continuance.

Primarily comprised of priests and priestesses who act as conduits and not leaders. They carry out rituals, guide bonds, and help others carry grief forward without erasing it.

The Branch Bearers

They spread the beliefs of the Continuance through example, story, and presence rather than sermon. They are teachers, travelers, merchants, and mediators.

The Ringed

They ensure no life passes without being held somewhere in memories. Many are archivists, storytellers, writers, and each can be considered a caretaker of names who were nearly lost.

The Seeded

Those who have began walking the path of the Continuance

Non-ordained followers who live by the Continuance's tenets, who live by compassion, who live by second chances.

Seedling

The earliest in the growth within the Continuance.

These are individuals who are still learning about the Continuance, learning the tenets, and beginning their journey.

Within the Seedlings are Those Not Yet Ready, who are individuals who have turned away from the Continuance, forgotten it's tenets and goals, or are still bound within their grief.

They are never cast out, only awaited.
