The Last Table has finally settled in the island of Epitaph, after talking to the gatekeeper they decided to honor the people that came before. Their knights will bear both the color red to honor The Oracle and their mother nation and purple to honor the past nations that lived there.

They currently work to turn the castle into a village, and their leader is the Duke of New Mavethkar. Currently under Duke Jase's leadership they have both an army and a navy that is currently growing.

Duke Jase announced that festivals will soon be announced, and that they are looking for people to purify the land due to the corruption caused by Indras's forces. Descendants of the nations of Mavethkar, Mementos or Epitaph are invited back to this young nation as Mortyl's culture and faith will be respected and their assistance in making the nation what it once was would be appreciated.

The Duke of New Mavethkar leads the Admiralty at a political level. In contrast, the Admiral undertakes the Strategic aims of the Navy and its trade routes within the Southern Seas and all relevant areas. The Admiralty in and of itself consists of the ranks of the Navy's military and trade arms. The Admiralty oversees the commissioning of Privateers and private mercenaries given sanction by the Duke of New Mavethkar to conduct hunting, defense, or otherwise activities on behalf of the Duke of New Mavethkar.

Mavethkarian Citizenship:
Mavethkarian Descent,
Section 1,
Mavethkarian descent is defined as having an ancestor who resided within: Mavethkar, Epitath or any of the territories related to Mortylian worship before and after 2205AC. Only a single ancestor, magi or non magi is required to qualify as per the criteria of this law. One can also become 'Mavethkarian' by descent by proving a proof of commitment to Mortyl's worship.
Mavethkarian descent entitles any individual who is not engaged in the Fel-aligned arts to settle and register for citizenship within Mavethkar.
Section 2,
 Mavethkarian Descent is processed exclusively through the Duke, or upon delegation, the Admiralty. If the Mortylite would seek it, they may consult with the Gatekeeper of the Gateway for a proof of commitment to Mortyl.

Section 1,
Any worshipper, descendat of Mortyl - her aspects, connected entities or attested allies, provided not beholden to the fel or enemy establishments is eligible for citizenship within Mavethkar through worship or descent.

As defined above with no connection nor affiliation with fel aligned, hostile, or God-killing arrangements.

Section 1,
Citizens of New Mavethkar are entitled to mass produced military-grade protective equipment, he who is born, sworn, or accepted into the fold of Mavethkarian civil society must not be impeded from acquiring factional protections.
Section 2,
Citizens of New Mavethkar are entitled to progression or placement within the various arms of government within Mavethkar, this includes but is not limited to governmental, administrative, and leadership positions - especially as it relates to military service.
Citizens of New Mavethkar are held to meritocratic standards, all citizens efforts are equally weighed and considered if they seek promotion to a higher station within the administration or military leadership of the state.
Section 3,
Citizens of New Mavethkar are entitled to diplomatic representation in any territory they may reside in - to which the need for legal or otherwise advocacy presents itself, provided they inform the relevant political and diplomatic authorites within New Mavethkar of their particular situation.
This assistance cannot be denied unless the citizen is found in usage of necromancy or otherwise Fel-aligned arts, including but not limited to Void related Witchdom.
Section 4,
Ciitizens of New Mavethkar are entitled to state funding and assistance or referrals as it relates to their personal projects, training, or capabilities. Citizens must refer to the Duke of New Mavethkar, or any delegated authority for assistance with such matters.

Writ No. 3: A


Section 1,
New Mavethkar will thus adopt the standard criminal related laws of its parent state, Atheleon. New Mavethkar will however, not enforce nor proclaim any religious laws which come from the Aphrosian culture or legal codex.

Section 2,
Trials, if warranted are overseen by the Overseer, Admiral of the Navy, and Duke of New Mavethkar. Trials may be prosecuted by the Justiciar however within New Mavethkar there is no assumption of a trial unless it is requested by Atheleon High Command or a foreign state who declares its interest in a fair and just trial within New Mavethkar.

Section 3,
Espionage, engagement in the Fel or Fel aligned arts, making threats or planning to overthrow recognised authority within New Mavethkar constitute criminal offenses subject to a  summary judgement by the Duke without trial.

Section 4,
Religious crimes within New Mavethkar consist of but are not limited to; actions disrespecting Mortyl or her aspects, Interfering with the Gateway of Death without Sanction, desecration of religious, national or historical monuments, artifacts, tombs, books, gravestones, statues, buildings et al within New Mavethkar.

Section 5,
Religious crimes are judged by the Head Priest, whose punishments are assented - thus carried out, by the Duke of New Mavethkar or 'Unassented' thus unapproved and needing amendment.

The Justiciar of the Admiralty of New Mavethkar spends time consolidating command and ensuring the fledgling nation will thrive under her father's reign; her network of legal, political, and bureaucratic connections allows her to exert influence and solidify the legitimacy of the New Mavethkarian State within Atheleon.

Yet, unbeknownst to the Duke and many others, the Young Garetta had been creating the circumstances to funnel a particular type of person into the Kingdom and directly under her command. The Privateers, Mariners, and others within the Admiralty, who served the Enarran faith, were alleged to be affiliated with a particular cause;

"The Order of the Golden Cross is rumored to be an ancient sect that was founded under the name of Enarr, established by a coalition of his Nephilim in the direct aftermath of the God of Wisdom's departure to the netherworld. It serves a vision of perpetual prosperity for mankind, believing it to be their divine duty to create perfect order in a chaotic realm of meaningless bloodshed, petty strife, and corruption.

For those who loathed Enarr, this might have been a concerning allegation levied against the Enarran Nephilim.

For those who loved serve him, they would only garner opportunity and revival.

From the tropical Islands in the south, to the cold Tundras of the North-east, Enarr's call was clear to them.

Vaguely, some may assume these are the oaths these Enarrans or Enarran Seekers have, or may need undertake;

Pledge of Oversight—We vow to oversee the mortal and ethical conduct of humanity, to steer it away from its baser instincts.

Pledge of Sacrifice—We commit to making the necessary sacrifices, no matter the cost, to prevent Meranthe’s descent into anarchy.

Pledge of Secrecy—We shall operate in the shadows, for the light of wisdom must not blind those we guide, nor should our power become an object of envy or rebellion.

Legends, myths, and tales crystallise;

"Over the centuries and millennia the Order is believed to have expanded its reach well beyond mere advisory roles, with its members within various levels of governance of the many Kingdoms of Meranthe, allowing them to mold the societal norms and influence the leadership discreetly."

Letters and notes are dispatched within hidden sections of societies, calling upon those known to a few to recite their oaths and thread southbound from the Motherland, Atheleon, into the Southern Seas, adjacent to a Gateway of Death;

Priests are called upon, both within and outside the order.  Should they arrive to the land, they will find a new purchase for their purpose in her ordained presence and his commands. The priests are informed that a champion will be anointed if Enarr requires such.

These letters reach even Crownforge, some rumored to have circulated within Kindlehelm, amongst a certain family...but these missives do not dare reach the Richters nor Aundeoths, even if they had the Talalts, Valkynia, and Equisol, requesting activation of old bonds and commitments to Enarr through establishing a connection with the Justiciar, swearing fealty to his Eternal Rule and so;

Steadily works Kakao, developing an item presumed to be for the Leader of this Hidden Sect, yet holding a more impactful purpose;

A crown for the Duke of New Mavethkar, and as such, word travels widely of the presentation of a New Mavethkarian Relic inbound, likely to be presented at some sort of Ceremony.

All the crows from the tower of New Mavethkar are sent at the same time by the Crow Master, Lord of all Crows, who sent them with the same message for all to read when delivered to all the other settlements.


"The Order of The Golden Cross is not allowed on the island and are to be executed, any of Garetta's followers will be arrested if caught if they exist. No announcements were made due to The Duke and Admiral Teague preparing to capture the former Justicar but being interrupted by a foreigner who was captured by the woman and used as a hostage by Garetta.

The hostage is now retrieved and the ones responsible for them will be approached as they ruined a major operation and the fugitive escaped. The Duke requests Garetta, who is now disinherited and is to be captured and brought to The Oracle, or executed if not possible.

PS: The Purification ritual was at the beggining of the year to any parties that didn't know. Help and friendship for any interested is always welcome, from people that actually want to be friends."

After the confrontation against the now banned and disinhrited Garetta, the Duke was seen talking to represantatives of Arcadia. People expected it to end badly but somehow nothing happened, at least until hours later when a public announcement was made by the Duke.

"The one responsible for letting Garetta escape was Jinhu from Arcadia, someone who never visited us before but felt as if they were in the right to break into our tower and act as the law in our lands ruining an operation to capture Gareta peacefully and move her to our mother nation. Jinhu from Arcadia was defeated and was captured by the criminal who used her as a hostage to escape, we made the choice to make an exchange in the mainland and prioritize the hostage's life who was brought back by Admiral Teague.

After discussing with Arcadia we will leave their punishment to them, but Jinhu is now banned for two years from our territory. We once again would like to make it clear, we have laws and we do not answer to Arcadia. If anyone from Arcadia is seen doing as such again in our territory they will be captured, do not enter our property or act as if you are part of our military.

The only exception to this rule is now Gareta or any of Cifer Mugen's operatives if seen in our territory, we expect Jinhu to be punished by Arcadia and for us to move past this to make good relations."

The message is also shared by citizens who seem to share the Duke's frustration that someone from a different nation would enter their territory, break into one of their buildings and attempt to do something that they were not summoned or requested to do. The future is grim for New Mavethkar and it's uncertain what will happen.

After being betrayed by his own blood and losing a valuable ally the Duke of New Mavethkar was in a hard spot, many expected the land to be abandoned or worse. But somehow despite all odds they resisted, new life came to the island and their numbers are growing again.

They are now preparing to expand the settlement into a village, but before that a small apartment complex for fairies and for the crows is currently being built. Their ranks once again have life but it's not much, they still seek people to help replenish it.

Recently the Duke died, yes there are rumors that he was beheaded by one of the daughters of Mortyl and came back to life. If the rumor is true no one knows, but he is now a priest of Mortyl and is looking for people to teach the faith.

The number of prisoners on the island is currently one, a judgment was given and New Mavethkar agreed to work with Sanctuary to rehabilitate the prisoner. Previous rumors indicate that the Duke was going to execute the prisoner, but Baylor Equisol made progress in the rehabilitation making him change his mind.

Progress In the City of The Dead-2210 AC

As the population of New Mavethkar grows and more magi join the small settlement they prepare to expand and hold events within their walls, workers gather preparing for something at the area where Baylor Equisol's failed experiment caused a giant hole in the earth.

A small group of soldiers are seem wearing strange techonological armors, while acolytes of the church of Mortyl are seem in hoods praying. The Crimson Knights remain the settlement's main army while the marines are almost forgotten due to the lack of people interested in joining them.

Don't Fear The Reaper Chapter 1: War -2212 AC

Streets are empty as some citizens choose to evacuate or move to other settlements, in the previous year acolytes had warned those who choose to stay that New Mavethkar will probably die like the old. Death or ascension was predicted by the acolytes, maybe both.

An offer was made to the Duke and he promised to answer it at the start of this new year and it was done, he was offered servitude and chose death. No man has the right to take another's freedom, no man has the right to rule over one's life or death...that was his response.

The Speech:

The Duke gathered the people of New Mavethkar on the last day of the year 2211 for a speech, the speech was later written and sent to other settlements to make his choice known.

" Many attempts to negotiate with Myridia were made and many offers were made including money and even a duel for the one who claims to have been insulted by Juketsu Equisol but they refused all of it, 30,000 coins were offered in an attempt to start over.  We made it clear that we do not want war, we only want to work on our island and protect the Gateway Of The Dead from the Fel, be it necromancers and witches.

They accepted the coins but still wanted 2 of our relics and later vassalage, which would mean to break an oath that was made to The Oracle and we do not break our oaths. Threats and insults were thrown at us, even accusations that Commander Juketsu is a witch were made when he only has an injury caused by them that cannot be removed.

As they laughed at us we were told that the dragon would smash the tiny spider that is New Mavethkar and were given two choices, they give us death or assimilation. As promised we will give you our answer, we choose death but mutual death.As long as I live Myridia will be our only enemy other than the Fel, we will sacrifice ourselves to delay your plans.

Their emperor has promised us that they will conquer all of Meranthe starting with the islands, we know that a tiny spider cannot kill a dragon but it can still poison it and speed their death. We will follow the steps of the sand spider, it's said that it has a poison strong enough to kill anything even if it only dies after the spider is long gone.

We accept and embrace death, let the reaper come but let it be know that we will do anything to take the horde with us. All our resources that were made to protect will be used until we are long gone, our the dragon's wings are cut."

Diplomacy:

New Mavethkar remains neutral, their main enemy remains the Fel, necromancers and witches and they will now treat Myridia as one of them.

Witchcraft claims? Letters to all nations were sent, anyone who plans to use that casus belli against us or suspect us is welcome to come and test all of us if it will protect peace but we will not be extorted.

Citizens leave their settlement and move to more peaceful ones, despite the warning no moves are made yet.

Result: The spider has chosen mutual death over bending the knee, it will die screaming and kicking but will attempt to poison the dragon as its final act.

2221AC-Hope in life, acceptance in death.

Despite New Mavethkar surviving Myridia's attack and all the hardships that came to the island in the following years it started to die, streets lost people after the migration that came from the promise of mutual destruction. But not all hope was lost, citizens stepped up when New Mavethkar needed them most.

First a brave Wolken knight who chose to wear their colors and fight against one of Myridia's leaders, then a kitsune acolyte who chose to spread Mortyl's word even when the Duke disappeared, and finally a young magi merchant who supplied the city after the Duke was gone.

While the hidden Hand and his heir gave their best to keep the island alive, it was the efforts of the citizens that stepped up that kept the island alive and somehow...slowly civilization in New Mavethkar healed.For 10 years no one heard of the Duke of New Mavethkar, he had been temporarily replaced with Lynette Anwar who acted as the small island's overseer for Athelion.

Then as the island's population started to die the newspaper of New Mavethkar brought news that no one expected, the Duke of New Mavethkar had returned and his position was given back to him.
Lynette Anwar will take the position that once had been held by Cassius Bargiel and act as Atheleon's agent on the island, Mortalytes will once again rule themselves. As for the Duke's heir he chose to retire, there are rumors that he has appointed a new heir but not one of his bloodline but who?

Weeks went by until the Duke made an announcement from the top of the tower:

"I did not want to come back, I was in a peaceful place. Yet, one cannot run from their responsibility."


"The brave souls that kept working even when all odds were against New Mavethkar didn't give up, so to honor them I will not give up either. If I'm cursed to not die, I shall use my curse to honor the island of Death."

"Vaska Folkhorn has been appointed as Knight Commander of the Twilight Knights, the Crimson Knights will disband to reflect this new age that we enter. A church will be built and Vaska will be it's Paladin while Misaka will be appointed as Head Priestess of Mortyl, the merchant Ferox Moonshade has been appointed as steward of New Mavethkar."

"To avoid the mistake of the past, this time I will appoint my heir before anything happens. Misaka Notte will be my successor, and I shall take the name that I used in a past life.

Misaka has been adopted by me, she will be taught to become the next Radiant of Mortyl. As for the church, after a vote between the citizens it has been decided that it will be a church of hope in life and acceptance in death...a church of Mortyl and Pylae."

Future in the island of Death is uncertain but it seems that they are rebuilding, population is growing again in their island and they once again are preparing to expand.
