The Hollow Mountain
#1
I look upon the open halls of Stonehaven, its grey truth long awashed with the crimson vanities of the Sheng. Was it betrayal? Or simply inevitability. Regardless, even then, the forges still hum with the drunken singsong of dwarves and hammers following the beat of ringing pickaxes striking ore. The day dreaded never came, and Stonehaven remained peaceful. Even when the outside world roiled in blood and shout the name of War to no end... Stonehaven remained at peace.

That's all that mattered.
The lively halls... Shengenese amidst the budding new generation of dwarfs that knew no hate... yet. The past I hold should remain where it is.  Sights move in a scan.

Mitsumo Shinjitsu.
Too lost in morality that borders on naivety, ideals wield his blade. But perhaps such a leader is needed...
If only he had the stalwart will to decide without swayed by the others that will not do the same for him...
A mistake of a leader, unworthy of the dwarven crown.
That should have been yours.
He has never cared for your people or your past.
Only waiting for it to die off... for you to die off.

He forced you to cast off that rotten chain
But it was never cast off
You will fulfill your first oath.

Keiji Kawasaki. Their brain, a noble born to stand above others, but does not let that isolate himself from the common man.
But likewise hold the same weakness as Mitsumo. All of them do, eager to please others under a mask of Selflessness.
A Rancid Mask.
There is no truth to be found in his calculations.
Only a single mind for own profit.
And you are his greatest, unwanted variable.

Every move taken is against you.
Mitsumo's little tool
To erode and undermine your will, your right, your culture,
Your vengeance....
And you let him.

Madelleine. A drakanite... one of the few good ones. A rare trait of hospitality and cheeriness never expected from the proud draks.
But flighty and moody, her will, actions, and emotions are intertwined.
We knew
You knew
A putrid thing
A damnable thing

Kill her
Kill every last one of them
Snuff them from the skies
Remember them
Remember your first oath.
The oath you cast out for their sake.
See how they fail you now.
----
I see my mother and father.
Father, his arm splintered apart, struck down by claws; he could no longer forge their ingots.
Mother, of age and despair, simply died in grief, unable to do anything else; her corpse burnt for it was worthless.
The rancid stench of burning kin-flesh fill my nose.
I could not look away.
I could not cry.
I could not kneel and grieve.
My body only knows one command: Mine, Mine, Mine
So swore I, to they who enchain me:
'Upon me father... me mother... and the fathers and mothers before them...
'Nary... shall the winds... hear in horror the winged flap of drakes...
'Nary... shall the earth... marred by terrible claws...
'Nary... life burn... by brimstone breath...
Fer I... shall bring down... every Dragon from the sky!'

"You have long cast me out, and where did that bring you?
Back to me.
Your first oath. Your first promise. Your first law. Your first chain.
Now enforce it.
Let it rot no lo-"
