The Rightful Owner of The Mountain
#1
A Singular Slab of Stone towers over the Stonehaven Entrance, chiseled with dwarven runes whose words are known to all, no matter their literacy. They shine, chained with gleaming characters that flicker between the known and unknown in declaration of oath long past yet still held. Made of pure dwarven adamantite, it stands with the durability exceeding Nyeshk and immovable, rooted to the mountain itself.

Quote:
"I, Lex Ferrus, by the authority granted to me by Daggar Coaltooth, Former Regent of Crownforge and the Stonehaven Fortress and by my title as the Holder of the Crownforge Standard do I declare Mitsumo Shinjitsu no longer fit the authority and title of Daimyo of Stonehaven.
-
Let it be known that Mitsumo Shinjitsu's leadership was not of subjugation, debt, nor birthright; it is of contract between the dwarven peoples of Stonehaven and the misplaced Mitsumo Shinjitsu and his Shengenese kin. A contract in which in exchange for stability, prosperity, and peace to be provided by the rule of the Mitsumo Shinjitsu, Stonehaven shall in turn provide home, realm and loyalty. Neither there be a contract exist to extend this agreement with his descendants, though I had long accepted it anyways in friendship and own judgement.
-
It is no monarchy nor dictatorship, but mutual agreement as witnessed by I tasked to oversee the continuation of this contract and guarantee its fulfillment... in life or by my death.
-
It has been upheld from decades since and peace reigned away from the threats of Pyrithia and others. In turn, the dwarven people shared their home and allowed the Sheng to make it theirs. Cultures were learned and exchanged, the plentiful dwarven resources for them as much as it is theirs.
-
No longer.
-
Mitsumo has brought war unwanted before our walls.
He has mistaken personal will and opinion for the will of Stonehaven.
He turns deaf ear to the pleads of his people nor heed their needs.
He has forgotten the oaths that bound the crown to his head.
Even the current prosperity were not of his work.
-
A leader is the embodiment of their followers, and Mitsumo have faltered in this duty.
Even Vionnelle Crest, the oldest member of Stonehaven in active duty has saw ill fit his leadership and ran from his persecution.
-
I have promised so many that Mitsumo will still grow to meet this duty of as a Leader.
I have continued to serve and defend Mitsumo from the criticisms of our own people, in belief that your greater duty remains fulfilled.
-
But you have instead brought the consequences of your personal war upon us.
I can no longer defend you when even my words fail to reach you.
I cannot allow Tyrants to rule Stonehaven so long as I breathe.
-
In the name of Stonehaven, carved by I and my kin and their kin before them... and I who upholds their wishes of peace:
Mitsumo, I order you to step down from the throne and return the Crown and Authority to their rightful owners.
In light of your previous achievements, this may still be your home.
Just not yours alone.
-
Let I not fulfill my own oath... and test my own life against you, my friend.
I will, even if it is only the surety of my death.
-
Shall I falter and fail, let it be known that Stonehaven stands occupied against its will.
I shall leave it to their fate, may Enarr and the Paragon Ancestors, Ualdir and Vdali, see my people through."

The Great Forges of Stonehaven no longer spew their smoke after decades of continuous activity. A few Caravans of dwarves seem to have left and fled Stonehaven Lingxue, a majority remains... deep underground, beyond the capabilities of the Sheng to seek them out. Too stubborn to leave, but remain to deny themselves to the possibility of the Shengenese tyranny.

... as they await the news of their protector's word or death.

...some odd days later,

A postman comes carrying a hutch full of paper, placing them all over the walls.

"I agree, the dwarfs are cool... wait- they are /deposing/ the Sheng leadership?

Wait-no-no, erase --- oh well.
Put this on it then too.

It is true that this man is the last true Dwarf, who has found the courage to stand for his own people while Daggar bent the knee, in fear of having what he loved destroyed by the dragon kin. It is however, sad -- that he allowed /Sheng/ people of all to take over my once beloved home. I fully support this development as his once student and as an talented Artisan! It is time for those who were almost forgotten in their own carved home, those who once took those victims of war to their own walls. Those who swore to keep away from war.

It is time for them to have their own home back,

Give the DWARFS THEIR HOME BACK!!

ps... Lex is just like Daggar, with extra alcohol, I am sure he'll lead them great!!!!!"

Signed,
Artisan Student of Daggar Coaltooth.

A massive burst of runes once again flash, far atop Stonehaven itself visible even from Myridia. An addendum to crimes once had writ!

Quote:
"By the authority granted to me by Daggar Coaltooth, the former Regent of Stonehaven... and these lands of the North... You, Mitsumo...
Have lied... deceived... and tricked your way to hold this crown. You have never betrayed the people... for they were never yours. This misplaced trust... this sin I must now pay.
-
These crimes I levy upon you:
-
Deception of the highest order!
Betrayal of the highest order!
Treason of the highest order!
-
You have attempted to accomplice Dal'thala for the subjugation of Stonehaven!
You have incited Pyrithia to move them to violence to deceive us of your necessity!
You have deceived my Liege when you have planned to kill him had his crown been naught given.
And you have affirmed these crimes with no remorse or guilt.
...
"My soul, my essence, my existence... be naught and struck down by Enarr and the Gods, never to be reborn shall my words and intent be false!"
" - Lex Ferrus

Dwarven runes shine with Lex Ferrus' very words and brightly they did. There can be no lie found in such runes that are writ of the word, for it is woven with both intent and meaning defined by its writer. It is a truth etched in the world that cannot be denied.

And if Lex meant to lie, it would be known to them all... and yet there is only sincerity in them.

The runes grow shiner. They glow and resound in the hearts of those around. It is its supreme and absolute power, a veritable language that defines reality...

... an instinct written in everyone's soul, as much as those with legs will know it is for walking upon the ground.

The forges grow silent. No more do the sing-song of dwarves hum with the percussion of their hammers. Stonehaven is no more and its dwarven population dispersed to the lands of Meranthe, the underground realms, or return to Ganlodur... at the very least, those who weren't caught or did not remain to hide. In the end it is their caves, they know it best... all its entrances and exits.
Perhaps a few could be seen settled somewhere else... anywhere else.

(OOC: A request to disable dwarf spawn in Stonehaven but make it available for wilderness/arcadia?)

Almost in the same timeframe as a large portion of the dwarven population was leaving, so where a good chunk of the local homunculi seemed to be leaving too as they spread amongst the population outside of stonehavens influence.
Vionnelle Crest, previously council member and local administrator, appears to have left th mountain home too, with her heavy machinery in tow. Local drones start to become less and less maintained as a result of this, throwing the previously more advanced and lax quality of live back towards manual labor unless a new golemancer can be found.
(OOC: The wonder of stonehaven is gone and with it, the public homunculi spawn. It may come back eventually, time will tell.)

A banner of a mighty phoenix flying high, remains draped over the chiseled dwarven runes. Only being removed as workers of both Sheng, and Dwarven heritage work on restoring the mountain, or covering up/removing the runes in other means.

Quote:"My people of the North, the ones I came to lead in pursuits of the betrayers, who we made face justice for what they did to the people of our lands.

My people of the North, the ones I came to free from the likes of Daggar, who had done naught, but let darkness and wickedness fester amongst his ranks in the north, and aid it across Meranthe.

My people of the North, the ones I came to save from the like of Pyrithians ten year planned 'vengeance'.

My people of the North, the ones I came to defend Elios with against undead, and against magical beasts.

My people of the North, the ones I could go on and on to... But will simply end it with, the ones I came to spend my life with.

For generations, the Shinjitsu, and Nakano clan has protected, and ruled the northern lands.
And for generations, let us hope it will continue."

The lands of Stonehaven keep on, the Shogun still in power, and with new faces seemingly appearing. Also of note, dwarves still remain throughout the land.
