A magi unknown to many, a constable by the name of 'Tanya Volkov' takes the Osronan Stage with her speech to become Magistrate.

The major talking points, likewise, were as follows:

-The Watch is not a suitable replacement for a defensive force, and because of this, Osrona is an easy target. There is a requirement for better recruitment and more incentives for that recruitment.

-

-The Church must work more closely with the rest of the city in order to actively assist in defending against banditry and demons. Without a group effort, another siege is entirely possible, and Osrona may suffer the same fate it did beforehand.

-

-A major disagreement with the current Coalition and a movement towards becoming a 'free' Osrona yet again. Specific statement towards how Osrona buckled and bent the knee to the Teraphim who all but abandoned them in the muck and mud after 'neutralizing' them.

-

-The Royalists of Nysea all but abandoning Osrona as well, both the Petrakis dynasty and the noble houses. With monsters on our borders, our scope of 'home' is continuously being pushed smaller and smaller.

-

-A push that, with a stronger defensive force, will allow our craftsmen and traders easier access to the lands around Osrona without fear of bodily harm or death, especially given that most demon attacks now take place at or before the Bridge.

-

-Finally, a slogan that Tanya often recites; A desire not to SURVIVE, but instead, to THRIVE.

Though the turnout for the speech was suspiciously small, those present state that Tanya still spoke with conviction and fervor. After the initial speech, several questions were asked and responded too. Transcripts of those below;

Question one: "How will you go about filling in the numbers of the Vigilant Watch from their pathetic numbers that exists currently?"

The answer: While there are a few ideas on the table, the important part is to test the waters when pushing these things forwards. Motivation is key, and working alongside the Church, Tanya hopes to find what motivates Osrona most.

Question two: "Why must we militarize? Would it not be easier to attempt to lay low and, instead of making ourselves a target, try to avoid conflict?"

In the same breath, another question was asked at the same time!

Question three: "While obviously this is a preparation for war, will there be no focus on our craftsmen and traders, or research and development for Osrona itself? If all of our focus is pushed one way, what do we intend to do to help the tradesmen of Osrona?"

The answer: Without a proper fighting force, if we instead rely on our current 'police' system, Osrona has no outward way of defending itself or its people. By attempting to fill out the ranks of the Vigilant, we can, in one fell swoop, both protect our borders and our homelands while likewise ensuring merchants and other traders have safe and easy passage across the lands of Osrona. While it's not a perfect solution, for the immediate short-term, the best way to ensure an open market and free trade is to forcefully retake Osronan lands."

Question four: Not so much a question, but a statement from Walter on the philosophy and potential of using demons as hounds of war, to forcefully tame them and use them as beasts to sic on their foes. Moreso a general statement, but one that Tanya answered regardless.

The answer: While things have changed immensely in the past hundred or so years- Such as blood magic and occultism becoming common place, and being seen less as horrific magics- the idea of siding with the demons likely doesn't sit well with many people, Tanya included. Though she sees the potential and merit in such an endeavor, with open wounds still existing from the constant assault of these creatures and the natural hatred of witches, and the fact that demons are witch spawn, it's something to consider, but likely not something to ever truly endeavor towards, especially for the well being of Osronan citizens.

While the last 'question' caused an immediate uproar in the crowd that cut the magistrate speech a bit short, Tanya was sure to thank everyone for attending, offering them her condolences for the potential aggravation and discourse that the tone of conversation had shifted too could have caused.. Tanya immediately returned to her duties as constable as the above comment immediately caused a rather large amount of discourse within the crowd before a much more important fight broke out.

In the midst of tragedy, Tanya offers her condolences and apologies to everyone involved; That if she can prevent such tragedy in the future, this is her primary goal.

After an interval of inquisitive silence, one lasting close to a month, the citizenry of Osrona is enlightened. 

Commander Walter Docro takes the stand in the forum once more. He comes not alone, as the major bulk of the Vigilant Watch, who has apparently doubled in size, and is now comprised mostly by razuka, escort him to the podium.

"Alas. Come the dawn of a new year, the registrations to close.
From this day, and til the present year sees its end, voting will be possible!"

"As it stands, I, Walter Docro of Sudbury, am the only Triumvir keeping this place weld together. Which is why I've chosen to make an additional announcement."

 

Stellus Romani and Ex-Magistrate Malia's fates remain unaddressed, as if a conscious effort to keep information obscured had been made.

"Whilst you shan't be rid of your liberties to pick a representative? I've come to the decision that Osrona will not function optimally without strong, unified, singular leadership.

Therefore? I am taking this opportunity to announce the existence of a new figure in the state: the Imperator. That being myself.

Whilst the Triumvirate will still stand, and each member will still retain command over their areas? Your militaristic representative will be able to overrule all votings in the senate - thus acting as the hierarchical superior.

Worry not, this is but an officialization of the fact, things will otherwise not change.

As such, Imperator Walter Docro abandons the podium, accompanied by miscellaneous, uneven cheering and booing.

Imperator Walter Docro takes the stand for a brief, though much awaited announcement. The smell of nicotine drenches the forum, as his gallery of smoking rats regroup in their usual escort.

"Well, well! Our urns are closed! Votes have been accounted for thoroughly. We thank you all for partaking in our little democratical safespace experiment! 

And our new elected Magistrate is… Miss Tanya Volkov!"
