Sypnosis:On an exploration Lumori found a totem within the caves that were scattered among the dunes of the sands, seemingly a representation of the three Beastkin that roamed Esshar's lands. Held within crates nearby the statue of two wolves. One black and one white,  with a few of them locked together in a loop. Something like this normally wouldn't attract her attention...Normally. On her way out, she noticed within the dark a figure moving with a massive and bejeweled in shiny red crystals version of the black statue. It would definitely be worth a sum.... Why not attempt to steal it?

Attendees: Louis, Lumori, Amalia(?)

Risk: I have child DR, you tell me.

Tone: Adventurous, Dark, Cultic.

Rewards: Shadow Tome, maybe some coin.

The visual thoughts of a closet artist
Posted by: ludster - 01-15-2020, 02:37 PM - Forum: Pre-Meranthe - Replies (2)

Across the winding paths and distant streets. Through Caelfall's proud buildings and Aerendale's graceful architecture. Past the bustling park and closer to the lower district of the city. Within a silent and modest homestead within the suburbs of Messaris lies a locked room kept dormant, filled to the brim with paintings of varying degrees, unbeknownst to all save for the abode's singular occupant.

Each painting tells a story. Every stroke exudes emotion. All components within the canvas, each one having a reason for its place within. Yet these paintings often arrive by the doorsteps of collectors, high class citizens, and bidding houses. A painting presented, yet an artist obscured as an unknown enigma.

Though these paintings eventually find a high price—often chipping in to the frequent exchange of coin between the rich and able—it would seem that a deeper meaning is hidden behind it all. Each painting told a story. Every stroke presented a corresponding emotion. All components, each presenting a reason for its place. It was through this that the artist tells the story they wish to push forth.

"Ahaha! Training has been a bit slow lately. Rather, progression has completely come to a halt and I've found it boring, unlike my past which was filled with excitement and lethality."
Himari has initiated a training montage for herself. Albeit, who would even train her? Her name causes people to look at her in a different light unless they directly meet her. But! It seems that one person has figured out that her presence is little to none when it comes to danger. A Master of a fighting style that Himari has only seen once. One that lets their energy flow effortlessly in their fighting power! But, the price for this is to only focus on that power completely. Meaning, ignore the rest of the magics not related to this power. Either by forgetting the spells or dangerously cleansing their mana circuitry of it.  Himari was up for the challenge.

Attendees: Solo event, unless someone wants to come to give her motivation or is looking for this dev, too
Tone: Spooky, Hard, Intense, Motivative.
Danger: Chance of Injury. Training isn't easy.
Requests: Dev for Way of Willpower | Probably a removal of the water tree. [Be creative!]

A Show for the Heavens
1670AC

Word around the city begins to spread like wildfire. A party and tournament for the people of Osrona is being planned and prepared by Sina and Andromeda ven Grimmore - but it appears that the location of such event draws the most attention. To avoid further speculation and to ease the worry of some, flyers are distributed at the order of the noble woman.

Quote:No enemy of Osrona can force us, the people of our dear city, to hide and cower within its walls.

The losses each of us has suffered are immeasurable, and at times like these... Answers can only be found with the stars. I, Andromeda ven Grimmore, hereby invite all of you for a celebration of what we still have, and what we will not allow to be stolen away from us. Know that there's strength in unity, and that we cannot allow fear control our lives. Above Moonfall, deep within its forests, ruins of a long deserted shrine stand. There- the stars will hear our prayers. There, we will share our strength with them.

Further details about the party and tournament!

Formal wear is required. You're encouraged to wear armor too, should you choose to participate in the tournament.
The party will start at 6PM EST, on 01/15 (this Wednesday).
A map to the shrine and the forest in question has been added to each of the flyers.

The tournament seems to be the main event for the party - and exclusive rewards will be shared with the winners.
The rules for it are as follows:
  • Teams of Two.
  • Knights are allowed and encouraged to participate, but may not team up together.
  • No potions are allowed.
  • No maiming.
You must sign up beforehand to participate in the tournament. (Here's where you do so!)
The party will also be an opportunity to find a partner if you lack one.

And now... For the prizes!
First place will be given a vial of White Oil and six ores of Arcanium.
Second and third places will earn themselves a hefty amount of coins.

Balance (How entertaining were the battles, and any obstacles/traps?):
Storytelling (Did it feel like an adventure, did the content of the narrations meet your expectations?):
Fairness (Were the punishments justified and earned, was the risk to reward ratio good?)

'To peer beyond the obscurity of this century and take inspiration from humanist qualities of our civilization'. A theatre of regal, elegant design now serves as the arena for many forms of entertainment. Crimson curtains drape against its walls and its primary characteristics include distinct architectural styles. Two, stacked rows of shallow balconies are positioned like a horseshoe to surround the auditorium, for better visual and audio intake. These seats are usually reserved for those willing to pay the price in coin. There appears to be an orchestral pit situated in front of the stage, sunken below ground level. The stage itself is pushed deep into the wall to better accommodate dancing, painted scenery props, and equipment. Here, grand operas and ballets can take place.
Events will be held in this space from time-to-time as Osrona’s premiere location for recreation! Anyone, especially those from Sudbury, looking for work can contact the theatre’s director and owner, Priscilla cos Solenne for further details.

Benefit Concert

A simplistic flyer is passed around to those with empty hands and particularly unoccupied. The sheet of paper announces a concert featuring the renowned violist, Priscilla cos Solenne, hosting another fundraiser. This time, it aims to bring attention to pressing topics within the kingdom and collect donations geared towards a state-sanctioned hospital in central Caelfall. All proceeds go towards the medical institute and other, redeemable causes; rumor has it that one Agrien Vandroy of the Red Wing Hospital will be heading its operations! Thanks to Seven's initial proposal, the goal is to create an infirmary recognized by Queen Petrakis herself.

Tickets are on sale for 150c per person; balcony seats start at 300c. Those currently enrolled at The Children of Esshar School and Orphanage receive free admission. Any additional donations are always appreciated!

An after-party will be held at the Siren's Strait Stage with plenty of refreshments and drinks to go around.

[The performance will start at 6 PM EST, 01/13/2020]

Have you ever desired knowledge? Of course you have. Go have a look in the library headed by an individual known as Juri. Strange name? Who cares, he's the director like it or not.

Take a look. Get some research done or just relax in the hall. Enjoy the calming sound of a fountain or appraise the decor of lions and dragons.

Not into dragons and lions? Go take a look at the imported antiques within the western wing. Vases and paintings imported across the lands. Replicas of course.

Focus on studies? The eastern wing is for you. Talk with peers or focus on your own research. We're always looking to collect and offer knowledge. Talk to the librarian of you need assistance.

Well lucky you, therapy sessions are provided by the librarian. Therapy is a rare trade and Juri has been given praise. Did you see Erika Salis? She's had less issues since having a therapy session with Juri.

Nothing is guaranteed with the therapy but he will listen to your woes and give advice.

Please be advised the library may close from time to time for renovations.
