| The Faith endorses a Candidate! |

Every few weeks, the High Priest hosts a sermon himself to contextualize recent events in the eyes of the Stars, bringing hope and clarity to those in need.
This is a portion of one such sermon...
On Righteousness
Quote:We are an afflicted people. Truly, we are. Beset on all sides by wickedness and sin, it is our holy duty under the stars to stay righteous and just. Just the other day we have more sightings of the occult, weaponized by the Syndicate. A wickedness that seeps into the air, tainting the life around it!
In times of trouble we must cease our passivity and act directly against these wicked ailments that come for our fair city, and the stars have seen it just and righteous that we are given a trial upon ourselves. A trial of our own righteousness, that we may test our ability to do genuine good in our fair city!
Death has befallen a mayor of the Sudbury district and with their passing do we all now have power again to choose our future. We have the power to pluck righteousness from a sea of corruption. The faith has scoured each candidate, sifting through Heathens, the Godless and Corrupt upon their path to rob Sudbury of their little wealth once more and found but one candidate that truly embodies the justice and wisdom that Sudbury needs;
Erick Falstrik.
Many may truly ask 'Is that not a knight'? And you are correct, young Erick is indeed a knight, and I know very keenly the turmoil the knights are perceived as. Understand that we have rooted out the best candidate in the eyes of the stars above under intense celestial scrutinization. Know that as wary as you may be of he, understand the gravity of the other candidates that I cannot endorse them in this sermon today. For only Erick passed the tests of Righteousness, only Erick passed the tests of Justice, and only Erick passed the tests of Faith.
The stars guide him and I know he will do well for Sudbury. This, the stars can promise.

Synopsis: There are many things lurking in the darkened corners of the world. Black beasts in horrible pits within the deserts, jungle monsters roaming and tearing through small villages and homes. Demons and devils obstructing the countryside, and evil lurking within the sewers of Ossrona. There is only so much that the Order can do, and so they focus on the most prime and potential of threats...
...Though, they leave those to the more seasoned individuals. An untested and unlearned group are assigned a rather 'simple' task instead of such duties. A group of knights and perhaps fledgling cadets are sent on a mission to scour out a small stretch of marshland, containing an ancient and -seemingly- deserted Ziggurat. What the age-old temple truly holds is a mystery, but it is there duty and their job to figure out just what it holds within.
The squad in question has been tasked with the task of scouting out the contents within the temple, and assessing whether the area in question is of value. Further teams will be sent in, based upon the discretion of the mission and the initial teams findings. (Chain-event)

Risk: CoI, possible CoD if you're that unlucky

Alright, so firstly I would really enjoy it if you could have LOOC show up in the IC tab but not the OOC chatter. OOC is a horrid flood of nonsense I don't care about and yet LOOC is the people right nearby. What if they are asking something important or saying something that might be relevant to what is going on? What if they are explaining the scene that I just walked in on? Tabbing over constantly is annoying.
Secondly, NPCs are capable of infinitely dashing unlike players and unlike players, we can't hit TAB to target them. I get why you have it like this but perhaps you could remove infinite dashing from the NPCs? It doesn't make them harder to fight it just makes them more annoying since I have to stand still and rapidly click in order to finally get the target working. It messes up my mouse's left click and only serves to eat away at my patience. I know others probably feel similarly about this and so removing the "infinite dash spam" would be nice. Maybe make them cast other spells more often instead?
That or you could create a hotkey specifically for targeting NPC's. That'd work.

"..purpose."
[ lo, do they call to him. ]
Event Synopsis
Deep within the western vales far from Osrona are ancient ruins that were once home to a band of Cosmic magi. Though their names are lost to the annals of history, it is said that these warriors-- these, 'Cosmic Knights', appeared in dark times to fend off against an encroaching evil. The ruins are where they made their last stand and serves as a tomb for the forgotten heroes. Young Tyr, a budding cosmic magi that seeks to understand more about his latent connection with the cosmos, now ventures off there in hope of learning something about those that had fought before him, and more importantly, aiming to once again make contact with the ethereal bodies that stood high above. Little does he know of the dangers that hang before his destination.
Tone
Mystifying, dangerous, educating.
Risk
Chance of injury; temporary or permanent. It doesn't matter which.
Specific Request
Tyr is a poor young man that is trying to better grasp a connection with his star, and perhaps in the future, find just what it is he was granted his gift for. I want some kind of fulfillment in that regard, be it through some words or otherwise. Pendant, weapon - some kind of cosmic attuned relic to help him better channel his gift.
Optional Request
Material drops?
Can be anything for other attendees.
Attendees
Emily Cherury, Iridas Sarai, Paca Kuma.
DM(s)
KaneRage.
Notes
Thanks for reading.

We're going to populate the map with dialogue NPCs soon, and you can help by submitting something in this thread. It can be as basic as a character wearing in-game clothing. NPCs should be 64x64 (either as a .png or .dmi) and on a plain background.
You can download the existing NPCs here to open it in the icon editor: https://a.uguu.se/2j86k6IC6I5T_NPCs.dmi
(If you want to just add to this file directly and re-upload, that's fine too!)

A Handful of trustworthy individuals who shall be spoken to ICly.
Event Synopsis:
![[Image: Jaeger.Sixth.full.2679699.png]](https://static.zerochan.net/Jaeger.Sixth.full.2679699.png)
Out there, somewhere far away from the city lies a secret. It is not so very heavily guarded, yet what does guard this secret is as dangerous as it comes.
The very forces of nature will deny those who do not crash against their mighty strength. But a tome is written and a secret is within. To decipher said secret is no easy task, however, and because of this a single stroke of luck is impossible to receive all that one requires.
Yet as the whispers beyond the ear of the city pass, these difficult trials come to the hands of one Knight who desires to break through them and further his own strength. Not for himself, no he has not been so selfish a person in a long time. But for others.
Tone:
A darker tone than usual. Not quite so evil, but it is far from light hearted and good.
Blood Magi and other assorted 'dark arts' followers will dwell in this place. They will protect their secret til their very hearts fail them.
No riddles and puzzles please. I am all for answering questions but I really don't want to guess what the square root of an improper fraction is, and I'm sure none of the others will want to either.
Risk:
Moderate Chance of Injury. (Nothing too crazy, we don't need to go losing arms and legs and important organs.)
Strong temporary injuries are fine though.
Specific Requests:
A tome to represent the location of the 'next secret' at the end please. It's all one big lead up, and trial, to an up and on the rise Blood Swordsmagi to discovering the Crimson Vapor Exalted hidden.
A cult of blood magic worshipers please! Maybe have them all also seeking the knowledge?
DM:
Will look around but if any random ones find interest in this, I wouldn't say no!

The Knowledge Seekers
![[Image: dcwu9ac-268a7466-7d81-41b0-8d2a-910c22420ba4.png]](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/647836095211503646/653749887204065292/dcwu9ac-268a7466-7d81-41b0-8d2a-910c22420ba4.png)
The Knowledge Seekers (often called "the Seekers", for short) are a guild established under the philosophy that all history must be preserved in order to ensure the progression of society and the betterment of future generations. They seek to accomplish this by adventuring to sites of ancient civilizations, uncovering ruins, relics, and knowledge of all forms. In embarking on these dangerous escapades, they hope to improve society by learning from humanity's mistakes and triumphs throughout history.
It was founded in 1663 AC by the master artificer Cicero cos Morneau, who was inspired by his father. A former self proclaimed 'knowledge seeker', Ulysses cos Morneau was an adventurer who would use his nobility to fund grand quests to uncover ancient ruins. The man suffered an injury during what would be his last adventure, losing his ability to walk and forcing him to retire. Cicero seeks to fill his shoes, taking on his title and and carrying on his legacy.
The insignia of a golden eye represents many things. The clarity and foresight that the guild values, holding wisdom above all else. But also, the riches that one could obtain from uncovering hidden treasure. The glory from making a discovery that will change humanity forever. The beauty from finding something truly remarkable. Whatever your reason may be; Seeker, I ask you one question. Are you ready?
If you answered 'yes', you're in over your head. It's impossible to know what you'll find in the field.
---
Ranks
Commissioner: The leader of the Knowledge Seekers, who makes all executive decisions regarding the guild. While they consult their inner circle of High Seekers for advice, they are ultimately last word of what goes on in the Seekers and the direction their research will take. The title of Commissioner is either directly passed from the current Commissioner to the next, or is voted for among the High Seekers in the case of a Commissioner's unexpected death.
Current Commissioner: Cicero cos Morneau
High Seeker: Appointed directly by the Commissioner themselves, the council of High Seekers are trusted members of the guild who have proven their loyalty, dedication, and leadership skills. They have the most direct power in the guild other than the Commissioner themselves, able to call votes to make major decisions and organize quests for Seekers to take up.
Current High Seekers: Asphira, Gendo Kurokaiyo
Seeker: The rank and file of the guild, affectionately named 'Seekers'. Having either been promoted by a High Seeker or the Commissioner themselves, their days of slaving away in the archive have come to an end. This is where the fun part begins. These members make up most of the guild, having proven their competence enough to go on dangerous adventures and do the invaluable act of uncovering hidden knowledge. This is also when members receive their Seeker Badge.
Researcher: The 'rookies' of the guild, almost every member will begin as a Researcher. They are essentially glorified interns, having not proven their worth enough to embark on quests. You can find these members humbly researching in the archive, examining various relics and pieces of knowledge that were recovered by the Seekers. Members can also be demoted to this rank as punishment, condemning them to grind in the archive for as long as is deemed necessary.
Associate: A member of an ally guild, someone who has expressed interest in joining but hasn't been officially sworn in, or an individual who supports the Knowledge Seekers in any way. Associates aren't official members of the guild, but they are welcome nonetheless.
--
How do I join?!
I'm glad you asked!
Send a letter to the Morneau Estate, located in Aerandale. The guild hasn't moved into an official building yet, so they are beginning humbly in Cicero's house. Well, not that humble, considering it's a literal mansion.
It'll need to include..
- Your Name
- Age
- About Yourself
- Reason for Joining
- Contact Information (Discord)
You can either reply here, send a message to this account on the forums, or DM me directly on Discord at Matthew#2619. I'll see about setting up a scene with you as soon as I can. If you really wanted to, you could even fill out the form on a paper ingame and try to deliver it to Cicero by hand.
We hope to hear from you soon!

Titles and Ranks
Quote: Wrote:Starseer:The speaker of the stars selected through the divine insight of the King & Queen. They are the direct ambassador of the star's will upon this plane and revered as highly as the stars themselves. To become a Grand Priest is the highest honor for any member of the church to hold.
Stellus: The executor of the Grand Priest's will and vision as dictated from the heavens above. There is a High Priest for each star within the Constellation of Leonaus, each held to the highest standards of faith and virtue. They function as the head of their particular branch, approving the entries into the codex and overseeing the operations of the faithful within their jurisdiction.
Bishop: A veteren and revered priest, the Bishop represents a mastery of knowledge of the faith and a powerful center of spirit. In times of need, they act as neutral judges when presiding over pressing legal matters. Further, they act as a point of escalation in religious disputes and resolve debates between other members of the faith.
Priest: A fully realized member of the the Faith. Priests hold a variety of duties, but most typically find their days lost in study, research, or direct action on behalf of the church. A priest acts as an administrator over Deacons, allocating their tasks and overseeing their charitable actions. Further, they also begin work on making new additions to the Codex Cosmos.
Deacon: An official member of the faith with all standing powers that it grants. Having mastered the codex and honed their spiritual center, a Deacon has successfully become a full-fledged member of the clergy. They now fully represent the church in their day-to-day actions and can host their own sermons / projects. It is not uncommon that Deacons are sent on missionary work to outside lands, or even to less well-off districts of Osrona itself in an effort to uplift the people.
Acolyte: An aspiring faithful of the stars. An acolyte is one with the drive to succeed but without the knowledge or experience to do so. Often younger, sometimes even barely into their teens, Acolytes spend much of their time that isn't locked in prayer or study following around older Priests and Deacons in an effort to glean experience from their day-to-day lives. Like a squire to a knight, an Acolyte is expected to support the clergy in all that they do and question few of their teachings. Many men and women fail the trials that face the acolytes with only a select few becoming deacons.
