Gathering of the Moot!

With the bleating of the yule-goats the clan's know the time is now to gather under the solstice of winter. A summons built into the very framework of nature in which all citizens of Vdalion know well. This is a time for change in the realm as the old Frost-speaker and in turn Flame-speaker's terms come to an end. Ten years of distinguishment, a life-time of honor, but as with the coming spring new beginnings are sprouting. New legends to be wrote in the Red Book of Vdalion.

 

Within the capital of Grimhjhall the Moot shall gather and discuss the realms future. The commoners shall gather in the ten's of thousands as they celebrate the coming of spring. Faith's from the farthest corners of the mountains converge upon the fair grounds of the Moot. Debates of philosophy interposed upon the flowing of crimson debts upon the snows.

 

Old grudges are brought before the giant-kin, laid unto their feet so they may gaze upon it and pass judgement. New disputes are settled upon the stones where legends such as Thrym and Surt once walked. Though, most importantly decision's regarding those beyond the realm of Vdalion. Woe unto those whom the Moot have deemed a threat to Meranthe. For the wrath of Ymir's chosen is terrible to behold.

The Moot is called forth and all are expected to answer the summons. Though, it is a meeting of the great lords and heroes of Vdalion on paper. In practice the event has become almost a festival as the many magi gather to learn which direction their homeland takes. With the mightiest and wealthiest in the realm it is unsurprising that the mercantile class seeks to profit and where the merchants go the common people follow. Where there is people? The religious orders gather to find new converts.

 

Notably the latest Moot marks the resurgence of several previously down on their luck clans as well as the ascendance of many new religious orders. Of these an old clan has shouldered the burden of a great deal of the festivities costs. Rumors abound at the machinations in which it's clan head seeks to secure himself the position of Frost-speaker but it is not wealth nor intrigue which make's one a steward of the Vdalion.

 

It is it's people.

Settle any inter-clan dispute brought forth.

Hear out the Faith's Representatives.

Hear out the Merchant Guild's representatives.

Hear out the Small-folk's representatives.

Determine relations to neighboring realms.

A new Moot, quickly called after the first of year 2000. Has been ordained, this one of a smaller nature but no less accessible for observance by the common people of Vdalion. The Moot council shall discuss matters of state with Captain Vaelrune representing Aphros. After a recent event involving mineral rites. An offer has been extended to Delphina to send a representative to discuss the situation as well.

Though, it is naturally understood that the meeting will have many long-term consequences for the relationships of the nations. It is no secret amongst the people that the council's aims are nothing less than the restoration of Vdalion as Meranthe's stewards. Perhaps, in this summit of nations they begin the process of guiding the younger nations once more.
